Hello hello! Whats this? An update so soon? Amazing, right! (Lies) Yeah. It's just been really hard to stay with my family recently. And prepping for College is nuts. Anyway...Here ya losers go. I don't know exactly where this is going anymore but be warned. Blood and guts in this chapter. Don't like; don't read. Enjoy!

Recap

"Why? You knew what would happen but you sent me anyway." I ask. He doesn't answer for a long time. Finally I snort and drag him up. I quickly tie his hands behind his back and gag him. I kick open another secret door behind his book case and push him through. I can't risk interrogating him in the complex. I'll be taking him to one of my safe-houses. Then I'll return for Will.

Maggie POV

As the woman named India led me away, I struggled to grasp what was going on. Jo's admission from last night admittedly scared me but I knew that I loved her. Now she was leaving me. And she had promised she'd come home. So everything was going to be fine. I looked back at her as we left the sitting room and I nearly cried. She looked so...defeated.

Once India and me were ensconced in the older woman's bedroom, she began talking. "Maggie dear, you have to understand the sort of life Jo has lived to this point. She has an unwavering loyalty to those she loves. Boss...he's been her everything. He took her under his wing since she was a tot, wandering the streets. I've only known the girl since she was 15. Before Boss took her in, she was put in fighting pits to fight other girls the same age, to the death. She never really recovered from that." India pauses. "The next bits will need tea." She gets up and opens the door, calling to her husband. "French Darling? put the kettle on, would you?"

I take a moment to gather my thoughts as we wait. "Do...might you know why this... Boss wants me dead?"

The dark-haired woman regards me for a moment. "Honestly, love...I don't know. I haven't been in this...undercover business for very long."
She paused as the tea arrived, with French. "She's gone. Wouldn't tell me what she's got planned."
India tutted gently and continued with her story. "After the pit fights... Jo promised to anyone who would listen that she would never kill another girl, her age or younger...until you came along. In the beginning, I'm sure you were just a target...a
s she got to know you however, you became a girl." India finishes.

I sit quietly, trying to organize all this new information. "Poor Jo...but, Boss would known about her vow...so why?" I asked, setting my teacup down to wring my hands. Neither adult answers and the three if us sit in silence.

Jo POV

As I push Boss into the special room in my safe house, I can't help but fret over Maggie. But when I see the look on Boss' face, my uncaring mask slips down. Now I'm only the ruthless killer he made me into.
"Well...dad." I hiss. I lift his arms, tying his bonds to the hook that hangs from the ceiling. "Whatever shall I do, to get you talking...

Finally he laughed. "Oh my dear...you are no torturer. You can't stomach it." He spat at me, one beady eye looking at me.

I smiled sweetly. "I think I can, after all....you taught me." Then I pull my hand back before punching him in the face. I hear a bone break and see the blood from his nose. I grin wider as I shake my hand out. "What were you saying about...being weak?" He only looks at me, groaning. From the corner of the room, I gab a steel chair, dragging it until it sits right in front of his hanging form. I take a seat. "I remember, when I was younger and came to you after a nightmare...You told me a few things you were afraid of. Not the smartest move." I say. "I plan to use all of them until you tell me what I want to know." Then I just watch him for a while. When it seems that Boss has come to his senses after the bunch, I pull a whistle from my pocket and blow. No sound comes out...then we hear a loud barking, a bit far away. There's a loud metallic bang and a door on the far side of the room shakes. I stand and make my way to the door that leaves to an abandoned manor house. I stand there for a minute. "One good thing about dogs, or wolves. They remain loyal to those they consider their pack." I slip out, but not before noticing Boss' eyes widen in fear. Once the door is shut behind me securely, I rush over to the two-way mirror. On the other side, I can see the door opposite barley holding back the animals. Finally, the wood splinters and cracks before completely giving way. I press the button on the control panel in front of me and Boss rises several feet into the air, just as the lead wolf snaps at his feet. I grin, noticing a dark stain on the front of Boss' trousers. The wolves continue to prowl beneath his hanging feet, a total of 3 beasts. I lower the man enough that the if the wolves jump, they just catch his shoes. The largest one does, causing  the shoe to be pulled off Boss' foot and for him to scream. The wolves pause at the harsh sound. The next one growls before launching itself up at the other shoe, repeating the process. Then, the last one jumps, biting hard into the man's ankle. I can hear the bone break before Boss starts screaming. I wince before reminding myself what this man did to me. The cool mask slips back in and a press a button. A whistle pulls sounds in the next room and the wolves whimper before trotting off back through the broken door. Another button, and a steel grate slides over to cover it so they can't come back.  Then I enter the room and lower Boss. I slide the chair under him so he sits but his arms are still suspended above him. At this point, He's on the verge of passing out from the pain. I slap him, the crack echoing through the room. He seems more alert after that so I lean down to look him in the eyes, smiling. "Wasn't that fun?!" I ask. I get only a groan in response. I point the grates in the floor. "You know what comes from there? Water...But that'll have to wait util I return with our Guest." I pat his cheek, wrinkling my nose at the smell of him. Then I leave, locking the doors behind me. I need to get Will and check on Maggie before returning. Maggie first.

Leaving the building, I quickly steal a horse from a neighboring house and stable. I quickly ride to India's house, the sky growing darker as night approaches.

Upon reaching her door, I slip of the horse, slapping its flank to send it back. I run up the steps and open the door, creep inside. "I'm back!" I yell, dusting my suit off. Within seconds, my arms are full of crinkled fabric and curly brown hair. Maggie. I wrap my arms tight around her.

She pulls back and sniffles. "I can't believe you just left me." She scolds. I only laugh, some of the tension draining out of my body.

"I know. I'm sorry. But my work's not done yet." I look behind her at India and French, giving them a brief nod. "Maggie, dear. I need your keys to the manor."

She fumbles at her waist before handing a set of keys to me. "There...Jo, what are you planning?" She asks. I only shake my head. I press a kiss to her lips before leaving again. I have a man to lay a trap for.
