[37]The impossible

Mortica pov

Yea so the newborn girl Bree she didn't make it.
I know I was about to kill her but the way they did it was brutal.

Now me and Carlisle is on the rez side.
He's inside while I stand outside with the other wolves and Billy.
I move slowly and put my hand on Billy's shoulder making him look up at me.
"Jacob is strong, everything will be fine." I whispered but can tell her still heard me as his face hardened and he nods.
I take my hand away as Jacob screams out again.
I sway a little as I get dizzy all of the sudden.
I feel warm hands around me and instantly I know that it's embry.
"You alright?" He asked and I don't move as I wait for the sudden nausea to pass.

What's going on with me?.
"Yes." I lie and before he could say anything else I hear a truck and see its Bella's truck.
She jumps out and see us all standing around.
"Is he okay?." She asked walking up.
"Doc is in there with him right now." Someone answered.

Another scream and Bella flinched a little.
I move away from embry and over to Bella.
I hug her and she hugs me back laying her head on top of mine.
After a minute we move away from each other.
"Carlisle is done." I speak up suddenly just as the door to the house opens and Carlisle comes out.
He talks to Billy and then he looks over at Bella.
"He was asking for you." Bella nods and kiss me and then walk into the house.

I go to follow Carlisle so we can leave when all of the sudden I fall to the ground and feel pain go through me.
"Woah!"
"Mortica!"

I couldn't respond as I pass out.

Time skip

I woke up and look around confused as to why I'm in Carlisle home office.
I turn and see him along with Edward and embry and Bella.

"What's going on?." I asked sitting up.
"Everything is ok, don't panic."
Carlisle is crazy if he thinks I'm not gonna react.

"I literally passed out which should be impossible as I'm dead or did you forget that in your old age Carlisle?!" I stand suddenly which was a bad decision as I get dizzy again making Edward grab me.

"Mortica just sit down everything will be explained." Bella says as I sit back down with Edward's help.
I look at them and they seem to be in shock or something.

"Have you been experiencing any discomfort before today or noticed a change in your appetite?" Carlisle asked and I think for a second.

Why is he even asking me these questions.
Wait a minute did Alice say something?!.
"Whatever Alice told you I'm ok." I shake my head.
"Wait Alice know about this?" Embry asked.
I looked at him and noticed that everyone seems to be confused.
Oops maybe she didn't say anything.

"Look the dizziness could be from me not feeding enough and me throwing up blood from time to time is probably just bad blood from one of the animals." I shrugged but even I was a little unsure.

"Mortica that's not normal for a vampire." Carlisle walks closer to me.
"I never been a normal vampire so."
"This is different because you're pregnant Mortica."
I immediately start laughing and shaking.
"That is the most ridiculous thing ever!, come on Carlisle I'm a vampire we can't get pregnant!"

I stop laughing slowly at the seriousness of everyone.
I shake my head and stand up.
"It's not possible don't play with me like this."

"It's not supposed to be but you are Mortica and that's why you passed out from the pain today your baby is struggling to grow because you're a vampire so your body is basically frozen it can't change how it needs to for the baby."
I frown as I slowly put my hand on my stomach.

"The baby is moving so it can grow in a different position than what it needs to and it seems with this pregnancy it's changing your body in other ways. Your skin is warmer not that to a humans and not cold like a vampire also your baby is half vampire half shifter it needs more than just blood to eat it needs human food as well that's why sometimes you can't keep down the blood." I was in shock.

I have a baby growing inside of me.
Me and embry's baby.
I look up and meet his eyes and he looks down at my stomach.
Would my baby be accepted in the pack?.
How would my family react to this baby?.

"I...I need a moment please." I say and walk out the home office and out into the forest.

I slump to the ground and pull my shirt up a little and look at my stomach.
Still flat.
No change.
No change at all but there is a little life in there.

I put my hand on my stomach and suddenly I feel something move.
I gasped in surprise.
"I feel you baby." I whispered to my stomach.

My baby should at least be five or six months now technically.
I put my shirt back down and take an unnecessary deep breath.
I then smell embry coming.
He finally makes it into my line of sight and we just look at each other not saying a word.
He comes and sit next to me on the ground.

We just sit in silence.
I then grab his hand and put it on my stomach.
Our baby moves around again which makes pain go through me but I can ignore it for now.
"Our baby." I say and he nods.
Who knows what's going to happen but I won't miss this one chance to be a mother.
