The sun isn't even fully up when I wake up, stretching under the heavy blanket. Demitra's still asleep next to me, her curls a mess, one arm over my stomach.

I smile a little, careful not to wake her as I slide out of bed. The floor is cold under my feet as I grab my jacket and tiptoe out of the room.

I need to head home for a bit. Maya texted me last night, something about coming over, and I haven't seen Oreo in a while. My dog probably thinks I've abandoned him. Not like I left them to rot in my house. I facetime Maya every day to check up on her, maybe three times a week.

By the time I reach my house, Maya is already up, sitting on the couch with a bowl of cereal.

"Look who decided to show up," she says, spoon halfway to their mouth. "You practically live at Demitra's now."

I roll my eyes, tossing my jacket onto the chair. "It's not like that."

"Oh, it's exactly like that." She starts kissing the air. "You guys are all over each other."

I grab a pillow and throw it at them. "Shut upp."

Oreo comes running into the room, his tail wagging like crazy. He jumps up at me, almost knocking me over.

"Okay, okay, I missed you too," I laugh, rubbing his ears. "Have they been taking care of you?"

She shrugs. "He gets his food, his walks. But he's been sleeping in my bed, which is not part of the deal."

Oreo barks, like he knows we're talking about him.

I sit down next to Maya, scratching behind Oreo's ears. "You good, though? Everything okay?"

She nods, chewing another spoonful of cereal. "Yeah. Just wanted to see you before you disappear again. You should at least pretend to live here."

I grin. "I'm here now, aren't I?"

They roll their eyes. "For like an hour, and then you'll be running back to your girlfriend."

I pretend to be offended. "I do have a life outside of Demitra."

"Barely."

I laugh, nudging her with my elbow before standing up. "Alright, fine. I'll hang out for a bit."

(Demitra's POV)

When I wake up, Y/N is already gone. Her side of the bed is cold, which means she left a while ago. I frown, sitting up and rubbing my eyes.

"Morning, sleepyhead," Eli says from the doorway, sipping on boba.

I groan, stretching my arms. "Morning."

"She went home," Eli adds, like she knows exactly what I was about to ask.

I nod, standing up and grabbing a hoodie. "Yeah, I figured."

Eli raises an eyebrow. "You good?"

"Yeah."

She gives me a look, like she doesn't believe me, but she doesn't push it. "We're all going out later. Just hanging around, getting food. You in?"
