Niharika entered the hospital after parking her car. “Good Morning Dr. Niharika, Dr. Veer is asking for you.” The receptionist said. Nihaika greeted her back and stopped herself from cursing in the morning and directly walked towards her cabin before she left to meet him. Entering inside her cabin she saw Preeti and Sapna waiting for her there.
“Oh finally you are here. We are waiting for you. Dr. Veer asked about you and said that as soon as you come, send you directly to him.” sapna said as they all entered the cabin. The cabin was shared by all of them including the boys who were recently on their work.
“I heard.” Niharika said with a deep sigh and sat on her chair. Sapna and Preeti looked at each other and then at her. “What’s wrong Niharika?” Preeti asked, sensing that maybe there is something bothering her friend. “I don’t want to see his dumb face in the morning.” Niharika whined, sliding a little on her chair, throwing her head back in frustration.
“Why? He is such a good man.” Sapna said, confused about what is the equation between Her friend and their boss. “He is anything but a good man.” Nihariika said, looking at her with narrow eyes. But then sighed before again saying. “He is my best friend's Dever. I know him very well. All he does is flirt here and there. Tharki Aadmi.”
Preeti and Sapna were surprised but then nodded in understanding. “Got it. But now before your Tharki Aadmi came here. Go to him.” Sapan said, earning a glare from Niharika. “He is not mine.” She declared, gritting her jaw. Sapan chuckled and nodded, Saying “Yeah, He is not yours .”
Niharika ignored her comment and after having a few sips of water she left the cabin. She knocked on his Cabin door and after a few seconds heard a come in. “Mr. Rajput, did you ask for me?” Veer looked at her and nodded. He picked the file and forward it towards her telling her to pick it up. Without asking any question she took a step towards it and picked the file. It is a report of a Heart patient.
“Be ready Miss Parmar. You and Miss Preeti will be with me during the surgery. Make sure you and Miss Preeti read the report thoroughly. In the next 25 minutes, ICU.” He explained. Niharika nodded looking at the file trying to read what’s written in the file but she couldn’t make a word out of it.
This will be her first time in the ICU helping doctors to perform the surgery. She is nervous and her palm gets sweaty just thinking about this. As much as she wants to calm herself down and not think about it much, the word surgery written on the paper did the exact opposite of that.
It’s okay Nihairka, you will do your best. She said to herself and tried to encourage her but the nervousness of doing something for the first time continued to consume her. “sweetheart?” She came out of her thoughts and looked at him who was looking at her in confusion. Veer looked at her. He can see the sweat forming on her forehead and the slight trembling of her hands. She is nervous and frightened. Why?
“What's wrong?” He asked, making her gulp and shook her head. “N-nothing. Why?” He looked at her with raised Eyebrows. “Okay then.
“I hope you both are ready for the surgery.” Veer asked Preeti and Niharika as they walked towards the ICU. “Yes, Docter Veer.” Preeti replied to him while Niharika was still trying to control her nervousness. Preeti looked at her and held her hand. “Shh… Everything will be okay.” She whispered to her, Niharika smiled at her in gratitude.
