Arden ended up taking me home with him. I told Mum i was at Rowan's and not to worry, but she never replied. I guess she's still shocked with the news. Thats understandable. Right?
We'll be alone tonight, Arden had told me. Mrs. Jacobs decided to stay at the hospital with Carter and for Arden not to pull any "funny business". I also heard her say not to ruin it. Ruin what? Oh i wonder.
The way home seemed much longer than when Rowan drove up here. I guess Arden took the back roads, which I was totally cool with.
He kept smiling at me the entire car ride but it wasn't like a fake smile or something. It was genuine and I just didn't know why. I mean, i barely knew him. Well, i mean i knew him. But, we never were on a close level.
"So, how's cheerleading?" Arden asked out of the blue. I guess he was trying to make small talk and help me forget about what had just happened only a few hours ago.
That made me crack a grin " Oh you know good and all but it'd be even better if you 'players' actually gave us something to cheer for." Obviously i was joking, so it shouldn't hurt his feelings. I had made sure to put air quotes around players. Haha, i'm freaking hilarious. The next Jeff Dunham.
Arden acted like he just got shot in the heart and i started laughing hysterically. " Well, maybe you girls should yknow-- get us motivated?" He winked.
"And did you have in mind a way for us to do that? I mean, you guys suck terribly. We'd need something awesome." I giggled. I knew where he'd take this but it was fun.
He wiggled his eyebrows and smirked " Oh i dunno.. Shorter and tighter uniforms.. No uniforms at all... That'd be nice." Yep, he just went there.
I pulled my long blonde hair into a high pony, i had a lot of experience doing this if you understand what I'm saying. "I'll definitely tell Coach Taylor your specific request." I slapped his leg very hard.
Arden's cheeks heated up. "ow, What was that for?"
"For one, saying we should be naked. And for two, i felt like slapping something." He started smirking after the second reason came out of my mouth. Oh shit.
He said with his eyes glimmering " I know what i'd like to slap tonight." Oh, that perv.
After that conversation, i decided to get my way out of any awkwardness by changing the radio station when Arden stopped my hand before i could even touch the buttons.
"And what do you think you're doing" He stared at me. Obviously, changing the radio station. No one listens to old school unless they are like 30.
Arden bit his lip, " I do listen to Oldies and no I'm not thirty!" He laughed. Wait what? He heard my thoughts. What the fuck is this? Some crazy physic shit?
Then i remembered, I do talk aloud when I think. Shit i hope he didn't hear that part about me saying i'm the next Jeff Dunham.
"Oh i did" He looked at me. Damn will i ever learn? "But it's cute so its okay. Ah here we are." Im safe from embarrassment at last!
My eyes widened as we pulled into the driveway of his house, or should i say kingdom. It was big and ginormous and ohmygod. It was beautiful.
Arden pulled me away from my thoughts, opening the car door for me. " Y'coming or what? Or are you staying in here ya knucklehead."He chuckled and held out his hand to help me down.
Arden helped me forget about what happened, and i was freaking enjoying it. Even though,It was probably pity.
When we walked in, we were greeted by a short lady with curly brown hair. She smiled at Arden then to me. Then, pulled him aside and whispered something to him and he nodded. She ended up leaving. Weird.
