The Dronecopter was sinking. The water was up to their waists, but thankfully, everyone had managed to secure themselves in the hatch, saving themselves and what little oxygen they had left. The group erupted into a choir of shouting and panicking as the Dronecopter groaned under the weight of the ocean pressing in.
"We're alive! We're alive!" Tang cried out, his triumphant scream echoing in the enclosed space.
His celebration was short-lived as a sharp crack echoed through the glass. Water began pouring in faster than anyone was comfortable with.
"Maybe hold that thought?" Mei said, only for a fish to slap her square in the face. She yelped, stumbling back.
"We're gonna die! We're gonna die!" Parker shrieked, flailing in the rising water.
"You are making us look bad," the voice of the Warrior hissed in Parker's mind.
"Am I gonna have to listen to you the entire time?!" Parker snapped aloud, his frustration boiling over.
"Who are you talking to?!" Tang yelled, eyes wide in confusion.
"Not you!" Parker barked, glaring at Tang.
"We should eat him."
"No! Why would we do that?!" Parker hissed under his breath, sneaking a guilty glance at Tang, who looked more panicked than ever.
Meanwhile, Pigsy threw up his arms, water splashing around him. "Here we finally get away from Macaque and now we all get to drown!"
"This drone, it's not water adventure-friendly!" Sandy added, scolding himself.
"Monkey King, you gotta do something!" MK shouted, his voice cracking as he turned to Wukong.
The Monkey King was leaning casually against a console, looking entirely too calm for the situation. "Huh? Why? A little water never hurt—oh! Right. Mortality."
That was the final straw for Parker. He lunged forward, grabbing Wukong by the scarf and yanking him close.
"Listen here, you smug, overpowered furball!" Parker snarled, his eyes wild with fury. "If you don't get us out of here, I swear—mortality or not—I will personally rip your seven bajillion layers of immortality out of your body, one by one!"
"Do it! Do it now!" The Warrior said, very eagerly.
"Shut up!" Parker snapped, still staring into Wukong's eyes.
Wukong blinked, startled by Parker's outburst. "Alright, alright! No need to get all touchy," he said, raising his hands in surrender. "Sheesh, you mortals get so dramatic when there's a little pressure. Literally."
"Monkey King!" MK shouted again, his voice shaking as water crept up to their chests. The cracks in the glass spread further, the sound sharp and ominous.
Suddenly, a piercing siren blared through the Dronecopter, the sound loud enough to make Parker recoil. He clutched the sides of his head, wincing in pain.
MK swam to his side, eyes full of concern. "Parker, are you okay?"
"My ears..." Parker groaned, his voice strained. "Why is everything so loud lately?"
Before anyone could answer, something massive slithered past the Dronecopter, the shadow of its immense form sending a ripple of unease through the group.
"What was that?" Mei asked, her voice wavering as she backed away from the glass.
"Something big!" MK exclaimed, instinctively moving to shield Parker's ears as the slithering form circled the ship again.
