Parker and Sandy, stood by a neon-lit arcade machine, their faces glowing in the alternating lights. With excitement in their eyes, they watched another pair, MK and Mei, focusing intensely on their game. The screen flashed with vibrant colors as MK skillfully maneuvered the joystick while Mei rapidly tapped the buttons.
"Button mash all you want, MK. You'll never beat my Ancient Galloping Fury Power." She said, shoving MK away from the controls.
"Up smash, up smash!" Sandy encouraged MK only to have Parker jump on top of his back.
"Get 'em, Mei!" Parker cried, waving his arms excitedly and momentarily igniting them with flames in his fervor. "Crush 'em, aim for the brain!"
"No one can defeat me!" She laughed only to be interrupted by the sound of her phone ringing. "Oh boy."
She turned away from the game, alerting Sandy and Parker to her change in demeanor. Meanwhile, MK continued playing, oblivious as he proceeded to demolish Mei's avatar on the screen.
"Hi, Mom. Yes. Of course. Yes, Mother," Mei said into the phone.
"What's wrong?" Parker asked.
"My parents-they want me to house sit." Mei replied
"Why would you sit on your house?" Parker asked with a confused brow raised.
"No! Me and my parents, we-" she was then interrupted by MK, stars in his eyes as he wrapped his arms around the others. "Uh, did Mei say sleepover at her house?" He said excitedly.
"What? No. My parents would want --" she tried to say, again interrupted by MK.
"Sleepover! I've always wanted to see inside Mei's secret Dragon House full of secret dragon stuff. Come on, please? Please, please, please, please, please?" He begged with vulnerability in his eyes.
Mei sighed in defeat, "Sleepover it is."
MK practically skipped away, his boundless enthusiasm overflowing as he chatted about everything he hoped to discover. Parker, on the other hand, regarded the situation with a more measured, cautious demeanor. A gentle smile played on his lips as he observed his friend's unbridled excitement, a warmth and fondness welling up within him.
However, that serene expression quickly soured as an unsettling sensation washed over him. Parker's nonexistent ears seemed to perk up, his head snapping around as his eyes scanned the area with growing paranoia. It was as if he could sense the presence of something - or someone - lurking just out of sight.
Catching a fleeting glimpse of a blur of black disappearing into the nearby alleyway only heightened Parker's unease, his hands beginning to crackle with sparks of energy as he prepared to confront them.
But before he could act, MK's cheerful voice broke through the tension, "You coming, bud?" he asked, Sandy and Mei not too far along their walk.
Parker paused before nodding, "Yeah...."

As Parker gazed upon Mei's residence, he couldn't help but be utterly awestruck by its sheer enormity and grandeur.
Massive stone walls stretched out on either side of the sprawling estate, their surfaces lined with a mysterious, verdant liquid that glistened in the sunlight. Beyond these imposing barriers lay a lush, verdant forest, its canopy a tapestry of vibrant greens and brilliant oranges, the luxurious trees reaching skyward in a breathtaking display of natural splendor.
Stepping through the ornate courtyard, Parker's eyes were immediately drawn to the intricate, ancient-looking paints that adorned the smaller walls lining the path. The closer he got to the main entrance, the thinner these walls became, as if guiding him towards the true centerpiece - the colossal, ornately carved wooden doors that stood as the gateway to Mei's domain.
