Chapter 5: It's Just a Black Eye!

Alex's POV:
Matt was getting close to my house so I started to get my things together. Once I gathered all my belongings he pulled up in my driveway and I said, "Thankyou for taking me! I had a great time." He replied saying, "Me too! We should do this again some other time." I just smiled and started to get out of the car when he grabs my arm and pulls me into a gentle kiss. His lips were sweet and soft to the touch.

After we both pull away I smiled and then rushed into my house. I run upstairs to text Shawn about what just happened when all of a sudden I hear my name in a deep raspy voice.

"Alexandria Quinn Diáz where have you been?" my dad exclaimed.

"Out with a friend and anyways I thought you were at the Amusement Park with Mom and Chase" I reply in an irritated voice.

"Don't use that tone of voice with me young lady." he yelled. Then all of a sudden he comes charging at me with his hand in a fist. He cornered me in the wall and the last thing I remember was his hand connecting with my eye.

The next morning I wake up on the floor in the living room, still wearing the same clothes I had on the night before.

I had to go take a shower so I walked upstairs to my room to get a towel. When I got upstairs I looked in the mirror and saw a giant black bruise around my eye. I was really confused until everything came back to me, but I still remember the highlight of last night...Matt and I kissed. I smiled at the thought and remembered I haven't texted Shawn about it yet!

I got my phone off the nightstand by my bed and started to text Shawn.

A: hi Shawn!! Guess what I have some epic news!!
S: Me too!! You go first!
A: okay..so I went on a date with this guy I met at the airport and we kissed!!
S: Really!!? What's the lucky guys name?
A: haha..lol and his name is Matthew Espinosa

It took Shawn at least 5 minutes to reply and I wondered why, but in that period of time I took a shower and changed into a white crop top with a elephant on it and some high waisted black jean shorts, paired with some black vans. After I put my hair in a high pony tail my phone finally buzzed. It was from Shawn! FINALLY!!

S: Matthew Espinosa!!! Alex I'd be careful around him. He is known to get with a girl then break their heart.

After I read the text I didn't reply because I didn't believe him. So I went downstairs to go to his house and ask him.

When I got there I rang the doorbell and he answers. He stares at me with a strange face when I realized I forgot to put makeup on my eye! Only Shawn knows about my dad abusing me.

Matt says, "what's wrong with your eye?" I reply nothing, but he kept asking and asking. I screamed at him, "NOTHING!! It's just a black eye!!

I didn't even get to ask him my question because I was so pissed at him!!
