Take Him Back

Welcome to Take Him Back. This story is probably one of my favorites that I've written. Hope you enjoy!

It was about ten minutes after Hunter and I broke up. He confessed that he cheated on me with his ex-girlfriend. Of course I was heartbroken but I was more shocked because he pretty much lied to me about him getting over his ex. I was upstairs in my room sobbing about this but then the doorbell rang. Wow, someone's going to see my puffy eyes and smeared mascara. Outside the window, I see someone holding balloons outside the front door along with a paper bag filled with a lot of things. Wonder who it is.

I open the door hoping that Jennifer (my best friend) would be here to comfort me. Instead, it's Ethan Dolan holding the paper bag, balloons, and a large teddy bear. He looks at me and drops everything to runs to me and hugs me tight. I hugged him back but also crying at the same time. This was a hug I needed, it felt so comforting and he made me feel like I was safe.

We ate the food that he brought over watched an episode of Orange is the New Black. I couldn't focus, I barely paid any attention to the episode. Ethan probably noticed because he kept sneaking glances at me.

"You wanna talk about it?" Ethan asked. What is there to talk about?

"Yeah." I quietly say.

"Say whatever you want, Maya." he says holding my hands with his.

I take a deep breath and try not to cry again. I don't want to seem weak just because of Hunter.

"Why would he do this? Was I not good enough for him? Was I just a way to get her jealous?" I say hoping that they sounded like rhetorical questions. I continue for a few more minutes and lose my breath when I finish. Ethan was patient he didn't interrupt me, unlike Hunter who always tried to find a way to end the subject or to stop me from talking.

"Come here." Ethan says with his arms out and I hug him again feeling relief once more and let go. We talk about school and his love life for a few more minutes while watching a show. His love life, was more complicated than mine actually. Last week, he saw his girlfriend kissing another person. He didn't know who he was because he didn't go to our school which was intestine as well. He loved her a lot, but doesn't know if she felt the same way towards him. For eight months, he tried to break up with her but she always found a way to make him change his mind.

About 20 minutes into an episode of Pretty Little Liars, I fell asleep on his shoulder. He carefully stroked my hair and placed a blanket on me. Eventually he decided to go so he brought me upstairs and kissed my cheek before he said, "I'm going now, see you." and left.
