Chapter 5

Eirian

I've never felt so alive! It's been days since I've gotten rid of my necklace. I can hear a hundred folds better, and dont get me started on my sight. Usually, I can't see over a few feet away, but now it's like everything is in high definition. It's like I acquired an artist's eye.

I haven't shifted though but Saphron says that its normal. He did accept me in his pack because of my ordeal of not knowing my origins. He's been really patient with me. He taught me how to get in touch with my inner wolf and we have really bonded.

What freaks me out though is this thing they call "mindlink". It makes you talk to other pack members through your mind. Apparently werewolves dont need cellphones. They just call out to each other. It does startle me sometimes. Imagine hearing voices in your head and convincing yourself you're not going crazy.

I need everyone in the hall now. Alpha Saphron boomed in my head. He sounds bothered. That's another thing about mindlink, you can feel what others are feeling too.

I walked towards the function hall. I have been introduced to the pack but yet I still feel miniscule. They all stood with certitude as they gathered towards Alpha Saphron. Quickly I made my way towards the front.

Saphron

I scanned the hall looking for my mate. I beamed with pride as I saw her. It pains me that she haven't felt the pull of mates. I know there's always this tension when we're together. I wanna shout out to my pack that I have found their Luna but I didn't want to overwhelm her.

She smiled at me shyly and my wolf and I relaxed.

"Rouges have infiltrated our territories. Three of our outposts has been destroyed. I fear that they have become more bold. I believe they are planning to strike soon." I announced in my Alpha voice.

"Maybe if you haven't been playing hooky with that mutt, we wouldn't be facing an attack. You've become linient. " I heard one of my pack members whisper. I saw Eirian cringe.

"I heard that." I said towards him. "What I do during my free time does not concern you." I said.

"I'm sorry, Alpha." He said meekly.

"Since you're being militant, you're on sentinel duty with the patrollers."
I said defiantly seeing his face fall.

Nobody disgraces my Luna, and when someone does, I will personally escort them to the gates of hell.

I was waiting for his dispute but he did not say another word. Take that!

"Very well then, who else here has anymore comments regarding me and my affairs?" I said tensing my body, making them uncomfortable.

"Figures. Ok. Meeting dismissed." The pack dispursed and I was left with my Luna.

She keeps on eyeing me. "What was that for?" She asked.

"What was what?"

"That. I saw you. You wanted to strangle that poor man's throat."

"I do not permit my pack members speaking ill of my Lu- lovely friend. Besides, I've grown fond of you."

Woah. I almost called her my Luna.

Eirian

He called me lovely. I felt my wolf swoon. I just dont know how he makes me feel elated and horny at the same time. Wait, what?

"I need you to be careful when you're wondering around the woods. The rouge's have established a camp near our territory and I dont want them stirred up and attacking us."

"Yes, Alpha." Ugh. I felt like a little girl beong scolded.

"I have to go." He quickly walked towards his office. I stared at his butt. What a tease. Ugh.

Saphron

I needed to get out of the room. My wolf sensed Eirian being turned on and it sent my wolf in a frenzy.

We should mark and claim her right then and there. My wolf imposed. Ahhh. How I'd like to ravish her in every way possible but that would be selfish of me. I sighed as I locked myself on the office.

Eirian

I can't belive him. He's sweet one time and impassive the next. He's moodier than me.

I took the time to venture in the manor. Wow. This place is huge!
I passed through a series of portraits. Each of them with piercing eyes. It gives me the creeps just wandering through this hallway. I took a left turn and was directed towards a room.

Yawza. They have a wine cellar. Cool. I skimmed through a show room of vintage wine. Apparently someone's been here.

Then it caught my eye. A wine bottle
with a golden label. Old bulgarian Vintage wine 1950's. Was this the wine Lucas was talking about? Maybe I should give him a visit.

I started to walk towards the woods and found a path that leads towards the town. It's been 2 weeks since the ambush and I'm quite skeptic about passing here.

I found myself in front of Lucas' store. A bell dinged the moment I opened the door.

"Welcome back, lassy. I see ya'v got me my wine there." Lucas greeted me.

"Ahh. Yes, I got you this." I handed him the bottle.

"I see yah got rid of yah necklace."

"Oh yeah. It was old anyway." I said uneasily. I feel a panic attack coming on. Breathe Eirian, Breathe.

"You should not have come back, Eirian. " He said bluntly.

Alarms ringed in my head. He lost his accent and called me by name.

Before I knew it. A tall figure gagged a cloth at my mouth. Oh shit.

Saphron

Our mate is in trouble. My wolf was going ballistic. I tried calming him down.

"Trooper, have you seen Eirian?" I mindlinked my Beta.

"I saw her out at the woods, Alpha. She hasn't come back since." , was his prompt reply.

"Why did you not escort her?!" I scolded him.

"Why should I, she was the one who wandered off alone."

"Because, my dear Beta, she is your Luna."

I could feel Trooper was taken aback.
"Never mind, I'll find her myself." I said annoyed.

I took off into a sprint. My wolf and I could smell her scent but it was faint.
I just hope we are not too late.
