Chapter 3

I was in tears as I finished off the last letter. Apparently I was adopted. I was found by mom and dad wondering out in the woods.

Seriously, lady luck likes to f*ck with me.

"These letters tell me that my parents died from a fire and a hunter saved me? And now that hunter is dead because of me. "

"Im sorry, Hunny." was all mom could say.

"and I'm a werewolf?!" I asked shocked.

They nodded in unison. I was waiting for someone to show up with cameras saying I was being punked but no one came out.

I sat on the loveseat then began hyperventilating. This was a lot to take in.

"But werewolves are myths, they dont exist!! " I argued.

"Do you remember when there was news about a lone wolf patrolling the town when you were little? That was you. Do you remember always waking up in bed with mud on your floorboards and sheets? You shifted into a wolf when you were ten. Only a pure bred from an alpha blood can shift at such an early age. " Dad said.

"Imagine our shock seeing a wolf on your bed. We resorted to giving you a necklace made from wolf's bane to prevent you from shifting and pass you off as a normal teenager."

I touched my necklace. I remember those nights waking up naked in my bed. Not having a clue what happened the nigt before.

I stormed out of the house annd began running like hell.

I ran and ran and ran some more until I found myself lost in the woods. Gah! I have no sense of direction.

I started walking til my heartbeat slowed down. I walked aimlessly until I got into clearing of a wide vineyard. Grapes. I love grapes! I was about to pick off a fruit when I heard a rustling from a distance. Wow. I need to get used to this supersonic hearing.

"Who are you and what are you doing in our vineyard?" A guy towering 6 feet bellowed at me.

He came nearer and I started to run.
I got away quickly, ran past the woods and toward our house. My floorboards where smudged with mud and so were my sheets. Wow. Mom was not kidding.

And then I fell into a blissful sleep.

"Sir, we had an intruder" Trooper mind linked as I was busy tasting a sample from our brewery.

"What do you mean, we had? You took care of it?" I asked.

"No, Alpha, I think I scared her half to wits because she ran like hell outta the vineyard."

"Ok, just finish patrolling through the outskirts of our territory and report to me."

"Yes, Alpha."

Eirian

I woke up feeling groggy. I showered quickly and fixed myself breakfast. I made up my mind. I need to get my own place and start anew.

I jogged towards the town center and entered a store. Lucas' knick knacks. It was filled with all sorts of unusual and bizzare stuff. I was greeted by an old man in his mid 60's.

"Not much fan of a werewolf, aren't cha? " He had a thick accent.

"I beg your pardon?" I asked.

"I see yah with a wolf's bane around yar neck, lassy. It means yah ain't a fan of 'em. "

"Twas a gift. It means no harm." I said as I twirl it round my finger.

"Ok, lassy, what brings yah to my shop?" He asked squinting his already beady eyes.

"Oh yeah sorry." I approached his counter. "I was thinking of pawning my engagement ring. You see, I have to move out of my parent's house."

He looked at my ring and studied it. "Tis a fine looking ring yah got there, lassy. I tell yah what. I'll give yah 1500$ for yah ring. "

"Woah. That's a tad too much. " I said as I eyed my ring again.

"It's worth a lot more. But that's all I could give yah. I've been meaning to buy my missus an anniversary gift." He chuckled.

"That's awefully sweet of you. But I cant accept it. It would make me feel that I robbed you. "

"I tell yah what, lassy. Yah get me sum of 'em sweet wine from the outskirts of town.. They produce only 3 bottles of 'em premium wine. That would be the best gift to my missus." He sighed.

"But it can only be reached by walking since its a private property. And my poor lil heart cant handle that much walking nowadays." He continued. "Yah get me that wine then we're even". He smiled.

"You got yourself a deal my good sir. " We shook on it.

I felt happy. Finally, I'm life is heading somewhere. I started walking towards the outskirts of town.

Dont go there. A voice inside me said.
Wow. I'm hearing voices now.
I shook my head and made my way through the woods. Besides, I'm part wolf. Who would dare cross me?

I picked up the receiver as the she-wolf walked away from my shop.
It was odd to see a wolf wearing a wolf's bane. But I knew for sure she was one of 'em. I can tell just by looking at her.

"I saw her. She's going through the woods in 10 mins. Find her and kill her." I put down the receiver.

"Those ferral wolves running amok. Let alone living with us. Tssk." I said under his breath.

So, this is it then. I'm going to die.

Several men with guns sorround me and blocked off my path. I heard growls from a distance.
