The three of us walk into school. As soon as I get into the building, everyone standing by the door stops their conversations, looks at me and whisper.
"Just keep walking." Maddie whispers to me.
As we walk to my locker, the stares and whispers didn't stop.
Caitlyn and Olivia were waiting for me by my locker.
"You came!" Caitlyn says hugging me.
"I told you I was going to." I tell her.
"I'm so sorry about Jesse." Olivia says. "I didn't want to say anything to ruin your first day home; and I wanted him to be the one to tell you."
"It's okay, I understand. It wasn't your place to say anything."
"Well looks who's already back at school." I hear Ali say sounding a little rude.
"You don't have to say anything." Caitlyn says quietly to me.
I turn around to look at her. You can defiantly tell she's pregnant, but she is almost 6 months along already.
"I'm being completely seriously when I say this, I'm really glad you're home and are safe."
"What's your problem?" I ask her rudely.
"What do you mean?"
"One second you're rude and a bully, the next you're saying that you're glad I'm safe at home; which you probably aren't considering you were with my boyfriend the whole time I was gone."
"So you heard about that already?" She asks smirking.
"Yeah, but I also heard that he broke it off with you as soon as he found out I was safe."
"You're right, he did. But I'm still carrying his baby."
"You seem to have forgotten that that's not going to change the way he feels for me."
The bell rings before Ali has a chance to talk.
We all go our separate ways and head to class.
Jesse's in my first period, so I'm not really looking forward to it.
I walk into the classroom and the teacher welcomes me back and directs me to my seat.
I sit down and wait for class to start. Jesse still hasn't shown up.
Like usual, about 30 seconds before the bell rings, Jesse walks in. He looks at me and stops walking.
"Jesse, please take your seat." The teacher says to him.
He walks over to the row next to me and sits down at the desk next to mine.
Class drags by like always. I guess some things never change.
The teacher gives us the last five minutes of class to talk.
"Rhylee, I'm sorry. I don't know how many times I have to tell you this." Jesse says to me.
"I've been thinking about all this since you left last night, and after talking to people about it, I think I can forgive you." I tell him.
He smiles.
"So does this mean we're back together?"
"No. I said I could forgive you; but it's going to take a little while for me to be able to trust you again. I understand that you thought the worst and you needed to move on, but you didn't wait that long to do so and that hurts. So for now, let's just be friends again."
The bell rings and we start walking out of the room.
"Well, can I walk you to your next class, as a friend?" He asks me.
