Elizabeth and Siren survived their torturous detentions with Snape that Saturday night. Elizabeth refused to call Snape, Professor Snape, and Siren wouldn’t answer Snape if he called her “Miss Austie,” only when he called her “Lily.” Which earned them more detentions and they lost a total of 50 points each. The other members of their houses found out about this and weren’t too thrilled. The girls couldn’t care less though.

Siren spent most of her free time in the Gryffindor common room, much to Percy’s displeasure. He thought that it was unjust for a student of a different house to be in the Gryffindor common room, but when he saw the note signed by Dumbledore, he lightened up a little bit.

It was the day before Halloween, and both girls knew that the next was going to be a big day.

The Ravenclaws and Gryffindors were making their way out to the Quidditch pitch for their first flying lesson. Both girls knew Dumbledore had to make dramatic schedule changes to help Elizabeth and Siren with their mission. Instead of Slytherins and Gryffindors being in the same classes all the time, it was Ravenclaws and Gryffindors together, at least for the next 7 years Siren and Elizabeth would be at Hogwarts.

Siren was very excited. She could finally, and officially, get to learn how to use a broom properly. On her way down to breakfast, she was chatting with Isobel, Lisa, and Sue about Quidditch. Padma was with her sister, Parvarti. Isobel and Siren were really the only ones talking. Siren had learned a lot about her roommates. Isobel was the animated, chatty one; Lisa was the calm and collected girl; Padma spent too much time with her sister and Lavender; and Sue was the annoyingly quiet and shy one. Sue was the one girl Siren couldn’t stand. Since Siren was naturally loud and obnoxious, every time she would speak to Sue, Sue would either make an excuse to not talk to Siren or just pretend not to hear because she was too shy to say anything.

Elizabeth was having the best morning ever, in her mind at least. When she woke up for breakfast, she thought it would be funny to cut some of Lavender’s hair off. To Elizabeth, the best thing about that prank was when Lavender woke up and looked in the mirror screaming and crying, while patting her head was the best part. Elizabeth cut off a huge chunk of Lavender’s curly blonde hair right in the front, where it would be nice and obvious. She caught Hermione sniggering into her pillow at Lavender’s appearance.

“Who, DID THIS?!” Lavender screeched, pointed to the nearly bald half of her head.

“I did!” Elizabeth raised her hand.

Lavender’s face turned a brilliant shade of red.

“Why. Would. You. Do this?!” Lavender demanded through clenched teeth.

Elizabeth shrugged, “You annoy me.”

“What have I ever done to you?!”

“You’ll know what you did to me in the future!” Elizabeth stood up from her bed.

“Are you claiming you’re a Seer?” Lavender fumed.

“Maybe I am!” Elizabeth shouted, and slammed the door to her dormitory. She ran down the girl’s dorm room stairs and threw herself onto the couch. About two months had passed, and she already was hated by at least one of her roommates.

Both girls ate their lunches quickly, eager to get to their first flying lesson of the year. Elizabeth and Siren walked to the field together, laughing about what Elizabeth did to Lavender. Siren became serious then.

“Who’s going to be with Hermione when she hides in the bathrooms tomorrow?” She asked, barely above a whisper.

“I would think it should be you, because knowing me, I’d probably make the situation worse.” Elizabeth snorted and Siren laughed.
