Filch had taken them to Professor McGonagall’s office. They saw Malfoy in there smirking about how he caught them. If he only knew what was coming to him.

After minutes of silence, Professor McGonagall came in followed by Neville who looked as if he was going to throw up.

“Harry! I came to warn you about how Malfoy was going to catch you tonight and get you in trouble for carrying a baby drag-"

Harry interrupted Neville’s sentence and jabbed his rib with his elbow. Unfortunately, Professor McGonagall took notice and started to yell at them for how they have been out at this time of night.

How dare you! It’s one-o-clock in the morning and you are all out of bed! You should know the rules by now! Everyone must be in their common rooms by seven-o-clock! Now what makes you lot are so special?!”

They were all silent, even Hermione who never seemed to shut up, kept her trap shut.

“I think I got an idea already anyway. You spread a rumor around school saying that you were sending a baby dragon away to Mr. Weasley’s older brother to get Mr. Malfoy here in trouble, and it worked out pretty well as I’ve caught him.”

“No, professor, it isn’t like that –” Hermione tried to say.

“Don’t you dare tell me that you really were delivering a real dragon!” Professor McGonagall said in her scary tone.

“It’s not true, professor!” Siren had pled.

It was no use in trying to persuade Professor McGonagall into thinking that it wasn’t there fault, and Malfoy was just being a prude and trying to get them in trouble. She would stick to her story and most likely wouldn’t change her mind. And not getting this detention was not worth getting Hagrid fired or worse sent to Azkaban for illegally breeding a dragon.

“I guess you also find it funny that your friend Mr. Longbottem also fell for your little prank too, eh?” McGonagall said.

Harry had glanced at Neville to say sorry, but it didn’t look like he saw. He looked close to tears. They knew Neville meant good to tell them that Malfoy was looking for them. He must not have assumed getting caught.

“I am utterly disappointed in all six of being out of bed this late. I would have expected more of you all. I would have thought you would all have the common scene to follow the simplest rule that is given to you, but I guess not. I’ll have to give all of you detentions –” McGonagoll stopped as Hermione and Siren made a loud gasp, and Harry, Elizabeth, and Neville looked at her wide- eyed. “And I guess I’ll have to take fifty points from Ravenclaw and Gryffindor from each of you and fifty points from Slytherin. Do not look at me like that Mr. Malfoy. Maybe next time you think of sneaking out to give me a fib about students delivering a dragon, you’ll think twice!”

“Professor, don’t you think fifty points each is a little too harsh? I mean, Fifty from everyone in the Gryffindor house her would add up to… just give me a second to let me add it up….” Elizabeth had said, now counting her fingers.

“It would be two-hundred Elizabeth, two-hundred.” Siren had said in disbelief.

“Exactly, that’s what I was going to say.”

Siren shook her head, McGonagall continued, “I’ll send you an owl on what you’re detention shall be tomorrow, but for now, go back to your common rooms and go to sleep.

Harry and Hermione looked pretty upset, as they just lost two-hundred points for Gryffindor, putting them in last place, behind the Huffelpuffs, but Elizabeth and Siren were not too devastated about it. Siren only lost fifty points for Ravenclaw and that wasn’t that much, so no one would really hate her that much from Ravenclaw. Elizabeth wasn’t too upset because she kind of knew Gryffindor was going to win because she had read the books.
