It was another slow morning in Spanish class. Taelyn and Steven sat in the back of the room, already finished with their tests, waiting for Callie to wrap up hers. While other students struggled through their conjugations, they leaned back, munching on snacks and watching a show on Steven's phone.

Callie finally turned in her test and walked over, sliding into the seat next to them. She raised a brow at the half-eaten bag of chips sitting between Taelyn and Steven.

"You two are seriously sharing food right now?" Callie asked, unimpressed.

Taelyn shrugged, popping another chip into her mouth. "Yeah, why?"

Callie sighed. "Because there's some crazy virus going around? Like, half the school is sick."

Steven scoffed. "Oh, please. People always get sick this time of year."

"Yeah, it's probably just the flu," Taelyn added, taking a sip of Steven's drink without a second thought.

Callie gave them a deadpan look. "Okay, but this isn't just a flu. People are dropping like flies. It's bad."

Steven waved her off. "We're fine."

"Completely fine," Taelyn echoed.

Callie shook her head. "Alright, but don't come crying to me when you wake up feeling like death."

Taelyn smirked. "We won't."

The next morning was a disaster. Taelyn groaned as she blinked awake, her head pounding like a drum. Her entire body ached, her throat burned, and her nose was completely stuffed. She let out a miserable groan as she rolled onto her back.

Her phone buzzed next to her, and she blindly reached for it, seeing Steven's name on the screen. She answered with a raspy, "Hello?"

"Oh my god, I'm dying," Steven croaked.

Taelyn coughed into her elbow. "Me too."

"This is your fault."

She frowned. "How is it my fault?"

"You gave me your drink."

"You drank from it!"

Steven groaned. "Okay, we both made bad choices."

Taelyn sat up and winced as a wave of dizziness hit her. "We can't let Callie find out."

"She'll never let us live it down."

They sat in silence for a moment before both of their phones buzzed at the same time.

Callie: Sooooo... how are you two feeling today?

Taelyn and Steven stared at the message.

"We say nothing," Steven said.

"Agreed."
