Waking up from the same nightmare, covered in sweat, I noticed someone else with Detective Matthew. A glimpse of a man, shirtless, sweating and running to catch me before I fainted and woke up in the hospital. He looks familiar... who could he be? Maybe I can ask the detective to see if he knew. Oh well. I check the time on my phone and see it's 5:55am.

"WTF? 5 more minutes and I gotta wake up for school. Why oh why has thou forsaken me, nightmare?" I say to myself while getting up to get a head start in getting ready for school. I need to explain to Jewel why I spazzed out yesterday. I need to apologize. God, I hope she doesn't hate me.

After I got ready, I went downstairs to make some bacon and eggs for mom before she went to work. It must've been hard for her to see me relive that awful situation.

"MOM! Are you coming down to eat??" I call out to see if she's awake enough to eat. I call her down again but there's no response. I go upstairs, knock on my mom's door and open the door. I see her still sleeping with tears dried up on her pillow. Oh mom... I wish you didn't know what happened to me. It's already traumatizing to me, I can't imagine her pain looking at her daughter be in a coma for 2 months. I kiss her forehead and let her sleep.

I go down to finish my breakfast and leave a note for her to read that I've gone to school and have some bacon and eggs in the fridge for her to eat. I gobble down my food as I look at my phone and see that I'm late to catch the bus. I run out of the house and sprint to the bus stop. I barely reached as the bus was almost leaving. I signal for the bus to stop and let me in.

I just noticed as I got in, James was in the back of the bus with his posse of guys surrounding him. Down girl. You are sweaty and a mess even though you had extra time to get ready. I walked to my seat at the front and see him look at me intently. I blushed red and quickly sat down, I put on my earphones and let myself drown in my music as I did the day before.

I feel eyes looking at me, piercing their gaze at the back of my head. I just lowered my head deeper into the chair and closed my eyes till we reached school. I felt like Bella from Twilight when she entered her class and saw Edward for the first time. What? Are you in a Drama movie? My conscious snickers at me.

As I felt the bus stop reach the school, I bolted as soon as the doors opened and ran to class to look for Jewel.

"Jewel!!" I scream from the bus as I saw her at the entrance of the school. I grab her hand and take her to an empty bathroom. I check the stalls to see if there was anyone and looked at Jewel's weirded out face.

"Jewel, I'm sorry for bolting on you yesterday. I feel horrible for leaving you like that and I know you only meant well. The scars are not something I want anyone to know about and I freaked out. Please forgive me?" I blurted it all out so fast that I don't even know if she understood me at all.

"Hey Alana, chill chill. I get you not wanting to tell me about it. I was pushy too and I'm sorry I tried to force you to tell me." She felt bad? But I was the one that left. You sure we can trust her? I'm not sure yet. I guess we'll have to see what happens.

"Alana, I got a secret too, and one day I'll tell--" Jewel got interrupted by someone entering the toilet. A guy came into the bathroom. He looked as shocked as we did. Looking at who it was, he was James.

"This is a girl's bathroom, hello??" Jewel said to him. He looked puzzled because he opened the door to the bathroom to look at the sign.

"This is the guys' bathroom, what are you doing here?" James asked Jewel like they've known each other for years.

"Jewel, you know him?" I ask Jewel and she looked at me shocked.

"Wait a minute. You don't know?? He's my brother!" She had the biggest grin on her face and giggled as she pushed me out of the guys' bathroom.

"Weren't you lucky that you decided to enter into this bathroom, huh?" Jewel said to him as we were leaving. I turned back and saw his cute and shy smile. What a smile. The smile melted me into a puddle and made my legs wobbly. God, you took your time with him didn't you?

"Come on, Alana. We got class. We're going to be late! Hurry up and walk faster!" Jewel says as she pushes me to class.

As we entered the class, I knew I wouldn't be able to focus at all as I did yesterday. Not because he was behind me but because the smile I saw was a sincere, shy smile. Looking at him, I saw peace. It was a comforting feeling. I wonder why.
