His ears rung.

The only thing his all-seeing Six Eyes could see now were the little stars behind his eyelids.

His body laid out on the asphalt, unmoving.

Move.

Both his heart and his head pounded while sirens blared quietly somewhere in the distance.

He couldn't see.

Get up.

The unmistakable taste of iron reached his tongue. It seeped through the cracks of his teeth and filled his mouth with a repulsive feeling.

Go.

Why?

Suguru.

***

A pair of sky blue eyes cracked open on a bloodied red face.

They looked around for ones they knew.

Where was he?

They drifted towards the floor. It wasn't a bed, neither was it the humble wood flooring of his house.

They tried to look up, but it was too much of a strain with the way they were facing.

They made their way back to the ground, which blinked with the reflections of blue and red lights.

For a certain reason, the sirens behind him were getting louder.

It struck him once more that his Suguru was nowhere to be seen and there were feet rushing around him.

Could he be..

No. He had to get up.

The sorcerer planted his hands on either side of his chest and dug his fingers into the asphalt, ignoring the sharp pain in his head and abdomen.

He began to heave his body up slowly. Bad enough he felt twice as heavy as he usually felt. He was in the middle of a deep breath when all the sudden a woman in a vest rushed up to him and yelled out for a stretcher.

What?

A few men dragging a stretcher quickly rolled it over next to him and grabbed his arms.

"Let me go.."

"We're here to help you, sir, now if you could try to get up-"

"Where is he?"

Satoru's bloodshot eyes wrenched open.

"Who?"

"WHERE IS SUGURU?!"

As if the gods taunted him, he saw another stretcher being rolled quickly to an ambulance. On it laid his Suguru, severely injured and hooked up to a breathing machine.

Satoru yanked his arm out of the woman's grasp and scrambled to his feet, but the pain in his gut sent him spiraling back down to the red asphalt.

"SUGURU! HEY! WAIT-"

The poor paramedic, only there to help, grabbed his arm and sat him down abruptly.

"Oi! You're injured, you need to stay still," she said while Satoru blatantly ignored her orders, "Wait, don't get up!"

Once again paying no mind to her orders, he wrestled out of her grip and ran. He shoved the paramedics aside easily as if they were bugs.

In calmer circumstances, he would have gone around them, still in a rush, but with less shoving. But his mind was in a frenzied state. Nothing mattered except Suguru.
