"For the girls who dared to believe in love, only to have their hearts shattered. She craved a love without conditions. He built walls to keep love at bay. Will he surrender to his heart's desire, or will he leave her with nothing but broken dreams?"

The night air was sharp, cutting through Kiara’s skin like tiny daggers, but she welcomed the cold. It numbed the ache in her chest, dulled the firestorm raging in her mind.
She had spent her entire life fighting to be seen, to be heard. By her parents. By the world.
And now, by him.
Agastya.
The man she had once believed would stand by her, even when the world turned its back. The man who had held her once like she was his everything, and now, the man who had shattered her beyond repair.
"After all, they are still your parents."
The words echoed, twisting inside her like a blade.
Kiara had thought the worst pain came from betrayal. She was wrong.
The worst pain came from being doubted by the one person you wanted to believe in you the most.
She didn’t remember walking home. Didn’t remember unlocking her door. All she knew was that the second she was inside, the weight of everything crushed her.
Her knees hit the floor.
And for the first time in years, Kiara let herself cry.
Not the silent tears she had learned to shed as a child. Not the quiet sobs she swallowed down, afraid of being heard.
No.
This was raw.
Ragged.
A sound torn from the deepest part of her soul.
She clutched her chest, gasping for air, her nails digging into her skin as if she could physically hold herself together. But it was useless. She was unraveling, piece by piece, until she was nothing more than fragments of the girl she used to be.
She had no one.
No family. No love. No home.
And yet… something in her refused to break completely.
Because if there was one thing pain had taught her, it was how to survive.
Meanwhile, Agastya…
Agastya stared at the empty space where Kiara had stood just moments ago, her voice still ringing in his ears.
"You knew what they did to me. And yet, you still think I’d side with them?"
He exhaled sharply, running a hand down his face.
Why did it bother him so much?
He had told himself that he didn’t care. That her betrayal was just another lesson in why trusting someone was a mistake.
But then why couldn’t he shake the way her voice had cracked? The way her eyes had burned with something deeper than anger, something close to devastation?
He had seen Kiara fight before.
But tonight, she hadn’t just been fighting for his trust.
She had been fighting for herself.
And that was what unsettled him the most.
Because deep down, a terrifying thought clawed at his mind.
What if he had made a mistake?
The Morning After
Kiara woke up feeling empty.
Not the kind of emptiness that came after a good cry, where the weight was lifted, even just slightly.
No.
This was different.
This was the kind of emptiness that came when there was nothing left to lose.
When everything had already been taken.
She stared at the ceiling, her mind blank, her body motionless.
And then, slowly, a new thought crept in.
She wasn’t done yet.
She had spent her whole life letting people decide her worth. Her parents. The world. Agastya.
Not anymore.
If Agastya wanted to believe the worst in her, fine.
If her parents thought they could break her, fine.
She would show them all.
She would expose the truth, not just to clear her name, but because she refused to be a pawn in their game any longer.
Kiara sat up, wiping the last traces of weakness from her face.
This wasn’t about revenge.
It was about reclaiming herself.
And she was going to start by uncovering the truth, piece by piece.
And when she did…
Agastya would have no choice but to face the reality he had so easily ignored.
Because by the time she was done, she wouldn’t just have proof.
She would have the power to decide whether he deserved to hear it at all.
