Mehrish Hossain:

"Oh my God, that much happened?!" Ayza exclaimed with excitement, making my eyes roll. "Yes, and what about the secondhand embarrassment I felt?!" I said, covering my cheeks to hide the redness. Meanwhile, Ayza and Laiba laughed like maniacs. They were over for a sleepover, and we were sitting on my bed while I told them about what happened to me yesterday.

"Aww, Aarish bhaiya is so romantic," Laiba teased, waggling her eyebrows. I shot her a glare. "Forget about me for a second, tell us about your love lives, Ayza and Laiba," I smirked, noticing Ayza's face fall suddenly. I could tell she and Selim had fought again. "Alhamdulillah, things are good," Laiba replied. "And you, Ayza? Had another fight with him?" I asked.

Ayza gave me a side-eye and quietly responded, "It's his fault, he's not telling his family about us." Laiba and I exchanged glances, and I said, "It's okay, don't stress too much. Maybe he just needs some time," I reassured her. "Time really? We've known each other for six years, and he still hasn't told his family about us! Plus, Ammu and Abbu are pressuring me about marriage. What should I do?" she asked, on the verge of tears.

I quickly pulled her into a hug. "Shhh... Ayza, calm down. Don't worry, Laiba and I will talk to him," I reassured her, glancing at Laiba. She nodded in agreement. After soothing Ayza, we shifted the conversation. Laiba said, "Mehr, remember when we used to bet on who would get married first in our group?" "Yes, and look, I was right! You got married first," I replied with a grin, making Laiba laugh.

Ayza chimed in, "And I was right, you're the second bride," she said, flipping her hair with a dramatic gesture. I couldn't help but smile at Ayza's antics. "InshAllah, you'll be next," I teased, giving her a playful smack. "Ouch!" she hissed, and we all burst into laughter. We spent hours reminiscing about the punishments we used to get for talking in class.

The entire night passed by with laughter, tears, and fond memories of our teenage years. Eventually, we fell asleep after praying Namaz-e-Fajr. I wake up feeling a sudden kick on my left thigh. "Ouch!," I hissed in pain as I felt another kick my eyes snapped open only to see Ayza's whole body upside down.

"Ayzaaaaa!!!" I almost screamed at her. She was dead asleep but instead, Laiba woke up. "Allah! Mehr what happened?" she said with a worried look. "Ask this cockroach! She is continuously kicking me! Look how's she sleeping ghore bech ke! ( selling horse/care freely)," I said with an irritating look and pointed at Ayza. Laiba just nodded negatively looking at Ayza.

"What the hell! bhumikompo(earthquake) happened or what? Why are you guys screaming?" We heard Ayza's groggy voice. "After making our ghum(sleep) haram(forbidden) how can you sleep so peacefully?" I said smacking her back and she groaned and sat up. "You wild woman, what did I do now?" she asked rubbing her back.

I shot her a mock glare, saying, "What did you do, huh? You were kicking me like a wild cat!" She simply ignored my comment. Laiba couldn't resist, teasing, "Bechara (poor guy), your future husband," as she chuckled at Ayza. "For real," I agreed, nodding my head. Ayza shot us a playful glare.

I glanced at the wall clock and noticed it was already 1:00 pm. "Guys, we should get up now, look at the time," I said. They nodded in agreement. After freshening up, we headed downstairs, grabbed lunch, and then Ayza and Laiba locked me in my room. "Guys, what's going on? Why should I stay locked in my room?" I asked, raising an eyebrow at them, suspicion creeping into my voice.
