adam dials emilys number into his cell phone.
"hey, sorry i cant get to the phone right now please leave a message after the tone." was all he heard
"why did you do it? when i needed you most you fucking jumped. i thought you cared!" he interrupts himself with a few hiccups in a row.
he could only faintly hear himself over the loud screams and sounds of the party adam had attended to get his mind off things, being a teenager he had drunk a few beers and what not.
"if you could, please come back. i love you so much but sometimes i dont think you did back! we have been best friends since kindergarten. did it mean anything to you?"
the phone was pulled from his hand and was being held into a tight grip by alexander. he looked at the contact details and once he saw adams ex-best friends name he hung up on the call. adam started to cry saying "i am sorry." but each time he knew it wouldnt bring her back.
alexander tousled his long blonde hair while adam held onto him tightly. alexander patted his back, he saw tahlia come into the view signalling her to come over. when she saw adam she tried to pull him away but she couldnt. she tried so many bribes, but it wasnt until she said "im going home." was when adam stopped crying. he pulled away and walked to tahlias car. alexander followed slowly behind and tahlia unlocked the car. they all hopped in (with adam calling shot-gun) and were all silent. all they heard was the quiet sounds of the radio. it was playing a cd of an old radio show about aliens. tahlia liked them sorts of things. when they dropped alexander home they went to adams.
when the car stopped at the front of his house he held tahlias hand and whispered into her ear, "i think i love you." he touched her face softly and kissed her, with tahlia kissing him back. when they finally stopped adam left the car without saying a goodnight, and went straight to his bedroom. ignoring all the questions from his parents and sister he locked the door and landed onto his bed smiling at the ceiling singing a song quietly to himself,
"my first kiss went a little like this." and closed his eyes slowly falling asleep.
