adam walked through the halls of his school. he saw the cheerleaders crowding around one another but all adam was thinking of was emily. when he arrived at the cafeteria all that he heard was people talking but he couldnt hear her voice. adam sat at the furthest table in the darkest corner and waited for tahlia to arrive. he opened his school bag and pulled out an apple. adam took one large juicy bite and savoured every last bit of it.
'hello' said a girl as she went to sit across from adam. she gave him a sad smile and placed her bag on the seat beside her.
'hey tahlia' adam said with a smile almost identical to hers. he took a second bite into the apple and pulled out a book from his bag.
tahlia admired adam as he looked so calm while she was sad as anything. she studied his eyes as she quickly grabbed a drawing pad and pencil case from her bag. she quietly sketched out his position and drew him onto the empty page. adam looked up when she was drawing and gave her a smile, after emily had left he was friendless until tahlia came along. he looked at all the crinkles by her eyes as she drew his portrait.
adam went back to reading while tahlia finished her drawing. a boy came and stood proudly over the table. he cleared his throat trying to get adam and tahlias attention. they kept doing what they were doing.
'excuse me' said the boy he sat down next to tahlia and admired her drawing. adam looked up and saw the boy.
'you are?' asked adam.
'im alexander' he said and looked at adam. tahlia looked up and saw the boy she nodded.
'im tahlia. that is adam over there' she said she while pointing at adam with the sharp end of the pencil. tahlia moved a strand of hair from her face to behind her right ear. she looked at her finisher sketch and placed the book into her bag with the pencils. her and alexander talked for what seemed like hours with adam talking every once and awhile.
they slowly went to their different classes when the bell rang.
