"you're being ridiculous!" cassie complains, giggling, as they sit in a booth of a small ice-cream parlour. "vanilla is disgusting—an abomination to all ice cream flavours, actually! i can't believe you like it!"
lando only rolls his eyes, shovelling yet another spoonful of vanilla ice cream into his mouth. "you just don't have good taste!"
"um," cassie defends, "i have the best taste, actually. rocky road is, like, chef's kiss."
"americans," lando scoffs.
"i'm canadian!"
"same difference!" he retorts, causing cassie to give him an offended glare, "when we're in montréal for the canadian GP, i'll show you just how different we really are. true north!"
though slightly offended by the curly-haired brit's remarks, cassie finds herself enjoying the banter.
lando makes a face. "why do you say it like that?"
"like what?" cassie frowns.
"mo-rayyyy-al." lando exaggerates.
"because that's how it's said?" cassie says, genuinely confused now.
"you just skipped the n and the t!"
"excuse me for saying it right! you english people would never understand," she says with indignation.
