''Finn what is it? You're scaring me.'' I said, as we walked up the cobbled path to our house.

''Don't be scared. It'll just be a bit of a shock that's all.'' He assured me, placing his hand on the small of my back as I unlocked the tall mahogany door. I took off my shoes in the utility, before walking down the corridor to the kitchen to make us a drink.

''Tea, coffee or something stronger?'' I asked, waiting by the fridge.

''Coffee please Wills.'' He said, walking up behind me and sliding his arms around my waist as I set the coffee machine off. He peppered small kisses down my neck as we waited for the mug to fill, creating a small trail.

''Finn.'' I giggled, spinning around.

''What?'' He smirked. ''Can I not kiss my fiancé?''

''I love it when you call me that.'' I grinned, wrapping my arms around his neck.

''I love it when I call you that too. Who'd have thought we'd be here ey?'' He smiled, staring down at me fondly.

''Definitely not the two children who swore we'd never be anything other than best friends.'' I smirked, leaving his grasp to take my tea bag out. ''Here.'' I said, handing Finn his coffee.

We walked through the house, out back into our garden which overlooked the sea shore, all the different colours of blue dazzling in the sunlight. We walked over to the swinging chair, and gently sat down on the intricate crocheted wood as the seat swung forwards and back. We placed our mugs down and I put my feet up, resting against Finn's side.

Sighing, I looked up at him with lost eyes. ''Go on then.'' I persisted, my heart suddenly becoming heavy at what was coming.

''You know I want to start a family with you, get married and grow old right?''

''Yes, but not for a couple of months until you're home, I know Finn.'' I smiled wryly.

''And you know it's not just training anymore?'' He asked. I nodded my head into him slowly at the thought of him fighting other soldiers halfway across the world from me. ''I've been ordered to fight right on the front line Wills, which means, it means-

''It means you'll have to fight harder to come home.'' I finished for him. The front line was the most dangerous place to be, directly in the shooting zone with a higher risk of being killed.

''Exactly. And I promise you I will come back.''

''Finn.'' I sighed. ''It's three months, we got through your training and we'll get through this. I'm still going to be here waiting thirteen weeks from now.'' I assured him.

''But Wills-'' He started, before his voice cracked.

''What is it Finn? You can tell me.'' I pleaded, sitting upright and facing him.

''It's not three months again. T-they need me for longer.'' He told me reluctantly, still keeping something else back.

''But your contract is only for three at a time.'' I stuttered confused. ''How, how could they order you for longer?''

''I volunteered. I couldn't let them down Wills. I'm so sorry.'' He apologised, pulling my head to his lips, as I buried my face in his t-shirt. Volunteered. I knew what that meant. It meant that whatever he was doing, wherever he was going, was highly unsafe.

''H-how long?''

''A year.'' He confirmed. ''I couldn't let all the other boys down Wills, they were counting on me.'' He sighed. His body had become tense over the past ten minutes, I could feel the strain from his muscles.
