Chapter one,
Laurens POV.
"I'm ready." I say to my dad as I carry my suitcase, with the little amount of clothes I have, downstairs.
Today my life would change forever. I'm transfering schools and I'm moving to a total different city.
After my mom passed away, my dad thought it would be better to start over somewhere else so we can leave the past behind.
I don't really care honestly. There's nothing to leave behind here in this awful town with horrifying memories.
As I make my way towards the car my dad takes my suitcase and places it in the back of the car. I sit down in the passenger seat and wait for my dad to get behind the steering wheel.
My dad and I haven't talked much in these past 6 months because of my mothers dead. He started drinking a lot and when he comes home drunk he is a little aggressive, I guess because of the frustration.
My dad gets in the car and immediately starts the engine. He drives away and with one last look I say goodbye to my home.
It's a long drive to our new home so maybe it is better if I take a nap. My dad isn't going to talk to me anyway.
We used to do a lot together and we were pretty close, but since my mom is gone he just isn't the same anymore.
I don't blame him, I changed too, but just not as bad as he did.
As he drives onto the highway I close my eyes and try to think of the good things that are going to happen in the future. A new school, new friends and a new home. What could possibly go wrong?
