"Yuh cya turn down the music? People in here a try study enuh" Lue said with an eye roll, her question targeted to Prezzi.
I know their names now.
Prezzi is the jovial one with the light skin and really light and pretty hair. His hair is caught in a bun and his line-up is showing.
Bones is the one that dosent talk much. His hair is thick and in five cornrows to the back, his line-up also showing.
Ravaz is the one who was arguing with Prezzi earlier about his "stupid" music taste. He is the only one without long hair, his hair is low and has waves, his line-up also showing.
Badz is the only girl in their group. She's the blunt and feisty one and her hair is in some jumbo twists.
And lastly Mani..he's him.
"Wah dat mean?" My subconscious decides to ask.
His hair is in locs that are caught to the back and his line-up is also showing.
"Dat still nuh ansa di question"
Uhm, chile anyways.
Our math teacher told me to help Kimani since he's a bit behind. When I told him to let me help him lunch and break time he said he was 'busy' so here we are in the car that he drove the other night but Prezzi is the one driving.
Since Lue was chosen to help Prezzi, they thought it would be a good idea to go to their house to help out. Badz, Bones, and Ravaz found others to assist them, but they declined the offer to come over for whatever reason.
The day after he dropped me off he didn't turn up to school but he came today and I can just tell that something is off.
His eyes were always cold, dark, and blank, so I didn't pay much attention-until I looked closer and saw the faint bruises beneath each eye and on his cheeks.
"Yah pree mi suh?" He asked close to my ear I'm guessing because the music is loud and he didn't want to shout or something.
"Mhmm right"
"I'm not," I said, not quite sure if he heard me. "Finish the rest of these," I said again, louder this time-avoiding eye contact, because I'm convinced he has a staring problem.
Jayden's birthday is on Saturday, so they decided to take tomorrow-Friday-off from school to get to Mobay early.
After our study session with these kids we'll start to get ready.
After a couple of minutes he handed the book to me and I looked at the questions and smiled. He got them right.
