It's the second week of school and I already have three graded assignments along with worksheets to complete.
A break time and mi haffi deh finish up homework because I didn't remember to do it the night before.
"So yah come?" Lue-Anna asked from beside me—I met her last week when I just came to this school.
Oh yea, I totally forgot to tell you guys. I recently moved from St.Mary to come live here in Kingston with my aunt.
"Come where?" I shifted my attention from the math book infront of me to Lue. "Girl you weren't listening?" She laughed a bit and I gave her a guilty smile.

"Mi did a tell yuh seh dem a have this cook next week Friday out at Whitehall where kids from different schools come. Eh always nice and fulla vibes yah come?" She asked.
I think Jayden was telling me about it last night.
Mi nuh wah go nowhere enuh. Plus I just moved—I bearly know anyone from around here and I just met Lue I don't want to overstep.
She initiated it thou but crowds aren't my thing either way.
"I'd have to ask my Aunty and get back to you" I told her then gave my book my undivided attention.
Aunty will surely let me go worse if Jayden a guh.. I just don't want to say no to Lue when she's been nothing but nice to me.
"Alright do dat" I heard a TikTok started playing after she said that so more than likely she opened the app.

"Yea so I'll call back later love you babe" I could hear a females voice come from Jayden's phone as he entered the kitchen with it on speaker.

"Ah b dunce" he said before hanging up and I just stared at him in disbelief.

Hearing him chuckle I couldn't help but burst out laughing. "Who gi yuh joke?" He playfully pushed my forehead back as he walked over to the stool that I was sitting on.
