After we had put Janna on the bed, we left a note on the door so that she knew where we were when she got up. It said that we didn't expect her to wake up any time soon, and so we thought it was best if we didn't wake her up until after Mason showed up, explained, and left.
We were keeping lookout out the windows when we saw Mason's car pull up.
"Ladies, I believe it's showtime." I backed up from my window to open the door. We all walked out onto the porch and lined up in front of the open door. Mason got out of his car and walked up to the porch. As he walked up, I could see in his eyes that his worry and excitement about Janna were true, but he was doing a pretty good acting job so I couldn't see more than that.
"Where's Janna?" He said.
"We know" Quinn said. Her face had so much grilling jam packed into it, it almost made me want to spill all my beans. He looked at Quinn.
"Of course you told them, you guys are basically attached at the hip." He almost whispered to himself.
"Wait, hold the hell up! What just happened here?" Me and Lauren started yelling. He talked directly to Quinn as if the rest of us weren't here.
"That 'seer'..." Mason started.
"Gypsy Healer" Quinn said, giving him the "I know more than you think" look.
"Damn it, you know more than I thought." He whispered to himself. "Well, that Gypsy Healer just happens to be my Aunt"
"What." We all said.
"She said that you all have to come to her house tonight, at midnight. I'll pick you guys up, and explain it on the way there. Now, where the hell is Janna." He was so close to growling the last part that I just stood there.
"No. This is how it's going to go down. First, you explain to us what the hell is going on, then we explain it to Janna, and then we might let you see her cause' you broke her sweet, big heart with this secret revelation." I babbled on.
"No. Now where's Janna." We were obviously getting nowhere and as soon as I opened my mouth to start calling this sucker out, I heard Janna say behind me.
"What's going on?" She said. I turned around, she was staring at us from the steps. Her face was covered in streaks from her tears and was all blotchy. She was shaking a tiny bit. She saw Mason and just stared at him with the most heart broken eyes I had ever seen on her face.
"Get out of here." I told Mason. I looked at him and I could see that he really did care for her. He stopped hiding his emotion and could tell he just wanted to make everything okay for her.
"No." Janna said, "Mason, come here." He took a step forward and the three of us gave him the back off glare and didn't move. This time he actually started growling. We stood our ground.
"Leave him, come here." She said, practically whispering the last part. She stared at him and we let him slide past. Janna walked out to the back porch and sat on the step waiting for Mason to join her. He started walking towards her when Quinn grabbed his shirt.
"You do anything to hurt her more than you already have, and you will suffer." She whispered to him. I knew she could be vicious, but that was plain out crazy.
"You girls should know me better than to think that I would do anything of the sort." he looked at us. Quinn let him go and he walked out to the back porch, closed the glass door, and sat down next to Janna.
