The Fable of Riley and the Jerk

Chapter 5

When I got home, my dad was sitting on the couch, with the tv on. "Hey dad, you're home early." I said
"Yeah, I was lazy. How bout you? Where have you been?" he smiled.
"Oh i was out." I replied.
"With a guy?" dad smirked.
I felt my cheeks burn and dad said "Is he your boyfriend?"

"DAD NO! He's just a friend!" I exclaimed.
"Alright, whatever you say dear." He said then turning back to the tv.

I climbed up the stairs and into my room, I cleaned myself up and changed into my pajamas. It was a mint t-shirt with the word "#SleepTime" on it, I matched it with a pair of sweats.

i spent the rest of the night reading Harry Potter and The Goblet Of Fire.

The next morning, i got ready for school. (A/N: Outfit on the side). I drove my black audi and parked right in front of school.

As i walked down the hall, an arm placed itself on my shoulder. I looked to see who's arm it was, it was of course, Jake's.

"Why don't you have friends?" He asked.
"I do! That guy is my friend!" I pointed at a random dude walking past us. He gave me a confused look and ignored me.

"Oh is he?" Jake smirked.
I rolled my eyes and walked faster to avoid him.
"Don't worry babe, I'm your friend." He caught up to me and said.
He then sprinted away as I screamed "Don't call me that!"

He whipped is head towards me and called back "You look great by the way!" and winked.

The bell rung so I gathered my geography books and entered the class. After hours of boring lectures, class ended and it was time for lunch. I sat in my usual spot, my only friend, Rosie.

Rosie has been my best friend since Grade 7, we share a lot of things in common such as reading, music genre, except, she's a cheerleader. She loves dancing, on the other hand, I couldn't dance to save myself.

"Hey Rosie" I said as I sat on the bench. She looked up and smiled. "Hey Riles! Football season is coming up! And I've been picked to be one of the cheerleaders!" She squealed.

"OH MY GOSH CONGRATS" I yelled, hugging her.
"What are you girls squawking about?" Jake suddenly said behind me.

I turned around and saw him and his friend, Logan, standing. Jake then, sat beside me while Logan sat beside Rosie.

"What are you doing here?" I said to Jake.
"What? Can't I sit beside my best friend?" He smirked.

Rosie had her jaw dropped and gave me a face that said "You better tell me what happened".

"So, you weren't lying when you said you have a friend." Jake said. "Hi I'm Jake, what's your name?" He said to Rosie. "I'm R-Rosie" She stuttered.

"Nice to meet you Rosie. And this is my good pal, Logan." He gestured to the person sitting beside Rosie. He smiled and said "Hey."

"Now, do you mind if i take Riley with me? I have something to tell her." Jake said to Rosie.

Rosie, popping the "p" says "Nope, i don't mind" as she smiled devilishly. I gave her a glare and before you could say ninja, I was being pulled away by Jake.
