When I got home, my dad had already packed for a week. Oh have I told you? My dad's going away for a week, for a business trip.
That's why I had to go, I have to drop him off at the airport.
"Are you packed dad?" I asked him.
"Yeah, I'm all set." He answered.I picked up one of his bags and put it in the trunk, he did the same.
"So I'll be back by Wednesday next week, and don't destroy the house while I'm gone!" He smiled.
"Yes dad, I promise!" I laughed.
I got into the driver's seat as he sat next to me. It took 10 minutes to go to the airport, I parked the car and we walked together to the gate.
"Bye daddy, Have fun." I smiled.
"Bye kiddo! See you next week yeah?" He said.
I hugged him and he kissed the top of my head. He walked into the gate, as he waved me goodbye.
I slumped back into the car. The house is going to be so empty without him. I love my dad, and ever since my mom died, he's been very sensitive and fragile.
I arrived home and I locked the door, afraid.
I showered, brushed my teeth and now, I am reading, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. I read till chapter 10 and proceeded to sleep. The next morning, I woke up to the sound of absolutely nothing except my alarm. I did my morning routine and hopped down the stairs.
When I walk my porch, so did Jake. I saw him did exactly what I was doing right across the street. So he wasn't lying, was he? I asked myself.
When our eyes met, he gave me his famous smirk, a
"Told you I wasn't lying." He yelled across the street, again, smirking. Earning a death glare from our neighbor Mrs. Bing.I just rolled my eyes.
"See you in school Riley" He winked and drove out.
I stared at the now non existing porsche and slipped into my car.
As I drove to school, with the window open, wind brushing my face and combing my hair.
Before I knew it, I was in school, I stepped out of my car and slumped into the school halls.
"Hey Rosie!" I chirped as I her by her locker.
"Hey." She said while hugging me. I was not the hugger, but she sure is.When she let go of me, she said "Are we still up for Friday?" She grinned happily.
"Of course we are!" I retorted back.
We are planning to have a sleepover on Friday, just us having fun and watching movies.
"YAY can't wait! See you at lunch okay?" She smiled. I nodded and we went our separate ways.
I entered my Literature class, the teacher, Mr. Park was sitting with his head hung low and shoulders slumped.
I wonder what's with him. I sat down on my usual spot, Mr. Park stood up and wrote on big huge letters "WRITE A SUMMARY ON THE BOOK 'THE SIDE OF PARADISE' (600 WORDS) DUE TOMORROW"
Oh damn, 600? What's got his panties into to twist today. He's usually really patient and understanding.
The rest of the day went by quite quickly if I must say. Before I knew it I was walking out the school building.
I drove back home, locked my car and walked up the porch. I changed and showered then I made myself spaghetti.
After I ate, rather in silence, I started to work on my assignment on Literature. You know, the one for 600 words!
That's when I heard a rattling outside. It was silent yet it definitely could be heard.
I figured it was a stray cat or a raccoon outside, so I ignored it and continued my essay.
When I was about 3/4 done, I heard it again, but this time it was way clearer and assuring. Someone or something is down stairs.
I panicked, I shuffled out of my seat and look for something to defend myself with. I came across my dad's golfing stick.
So I picked it up and straddled downstairs, quietly. Suddenly a hand clamped my mouth and dragged me towards the back door.
Was I being kidnapped? I struggled to scream and yell, there were 3 of them. One was grasping my hands, another was clamping my mouth and the last one was opening the door.
As I was screaming, The front door burst open and I could see the silhouette of a man.
"GET YOUR FUCKING HANDS OFF HER" He screamed, wait I recognize that voice. Is that Jake?
