It's been three days since our first kiss and my body still gets an instant high whenever we kiss. I haven't talked to him on Facebook in those three days and I don't know why. I know we have third quarter finals but I don't really study and neither does he. But that doesn't bother me as much as the dream - well they aren't really dreams, more like nightmares - that I had last night. It was similar to the first nightmare that I had about losing Matt...
•~•DREAM/FLASHBACK•~•
There was a darkness around me. A deep red color surrounding and penetrating everything. I can make out shapes this time and that makes it easier to tell where I am. l can make out the outline of somebody standing in a doorway with a lighter red surrounding their figure.
I can't hear what the shadowed person is saying but I can see them motioning frantically for me to join them. Then they turned and started running through the doorway and I got up to follow them, but not before I tripped over something and landed hard on my hands and stomach.
I kicked whatever was in the way of my feet and started back towards the door. The shadow person came back and rushed towards me as if to grab my wrist, but disappeared into a cloud of black mist that sprayed my face like they were still moving towards me.
Then the scenery changed around me. I was back to the scene where the incident with Brendan happened last time. But it was different, somehow. I couldn't tell what was different about it; the smell of the grass, the color of the trees, something was just...off.
I notice a movement out of the corner of my eye and quickly turn to see who - or what - it is. I study the treeline where I thought I saw something but don't notice anything unusual about the trees. But the color of the grass beneath the trees catch my attention.
I start to slowly walk towards the grass spot when something grabs my side and throws me to the ground.
"SHIT!! That hurt. Shouldn't have done that!" somebody yells quietly at themselves. I can tell it's a guy and his voice sounds familiar but I can't match a face, or name to the voice.
"If it hurt so much, why'd you do it?!" I yell back at them. I see them crawling over towards me and gasp when I see their face.
"If I were you, I would keep my mouth shut and stay low" he advises me not-so-quietly.
I swear, this guy has enough nerve in him in one day to last me two weeks. Zach, one of my bestest friends of all time, had a gash on his head that had clotted and stopped the heavy bleeding aside for the occasional trickle down the side of his face.
"Zach! What happened to you?!" I freak out, doing a motherly thing for some weird reason, and trying to clean his forehead and get it wrapped.
"Keep your voice down! They have Matt and some others held in some dungeon like thing. I got out because I said I would bring you to them, but we gotta go now if we wanna survive!" he said frantically like they knew where he was. It reminded me of the urgency the shadowy figure had in the red room but I dismissed it.
"What about Matt? I can't just leave him!" I say with tears stinging my eyes.
"Abbey, consider him gone. They told me I had two hours to find you and bring you to them. If I went over my time limit, everyone dies. And I only have 14 minutes left." he sounded scared and tried to grab my hand, but I yanked it away from him.
"I won't leave him. I don't want to feel responsible for his death." I say finally letting a tear loose. Zach wipes it away and leans towards me.
"He said that if he dies, he wants you to forget him. If he doesn't die, he would go in there and get you out and have them kill him instead." he whispered in my ear.
