Now That You're Back

Chapter 2

Lena's POV

After having dinner with my once again whole family, I went upstairs to start my homework I had received at school that day. Louis follows me up to my room saying, "Homework?!?! On the last week of school?!?! Who the hell do they think they are?!?!"

"Well, they probably think they are teachers, which they are, and it's, like, their job, or something, to give us homework so..." I retorted.

"Wow, Len. Only been home a couple hours and I realized how much I didn't miss my little sister's cheeky comments."

"Oh Lou, we are twins, so you are not older!" we've had this argument before many times, "Just because you popped out four minutes before me does not give you the older brother title!!"

As I sat down to do my homework, I realized just how much I missed my Lou Bear and how I couldn't even understand how I had survived so long without him. He was truly my best friend, always there for me and supporting me. We were complete opposites, but somehow we balanced each other out perfectly. It wasn't always like that; we did have those years when we were younger where we couldn't stand being in the same room as each other. But I'm pretty sure that's normal for any siblings.

My thought bubble was popped when Louis threw an eraser at me, direct hit to the forehead. Thanks Lou! Love you too! He had gotten the better half of the deal. Louis had the brains, the good looks, and the talent. I, on the other hand, just got the brains. It wasn't fair but it's not like I could change it anyway.

"Lena! You've spaced out twice in the last five minutes! What's wrong with you?"

"I just really missed you that's all," I spoke with a sad voice, "but I'm so excited to spend the whole summer together! Just you and me!"

Louis' POV

"Just you and me," she said.

Shit. How am I supposed to tell her my band will be joining us on our vacation? Ugh she will be so upset. I have left her alone for so long without a phone call, text message, email, or anything! I didn't want to let her down again. I mean, I tried to call, I just forgot. I thought she wouldn't mind! She made it clear she totally supported me perusing my dreams! Pretty soon days turned into weeks, which turned into months. All I wanted is for Lena to see how amazing my band mates all are! I've spent the last couple months with them and I really think Harry and Lena are so similar it kind of scares me. Lena may be a little nerdy but once you break her out of her shell she is cheeky just like him.

"Well, where are we going?" she breaks the silence.

I looked over and she was half way done with her homework. "We are going to the US! First, Florida, because I know how you love beaches, then New York because I know you are going to love it!"

The look on her face was unforgettable. I knew she had always wanted to go to the US which is why I decided to take her there.

"What's this about the US?"

Uh Oh, my parents...

"Yeah, Louis is taking me to Florida and New York this summer, just us two. We are going to catch up and stuff," Lena said to my mother.

"Um, when were you planning on asking permission?"

"Well, we are 18 so technically, we don't have to," from the look of my mother's face, I probably shouldn't have said that. "I mean, I was going to ask but I wanted it to be a surprise," I quickly corrected myself.

"What about your job, Lena?"

"Well, I just got that so I wouldn't be totally alone this summer."

Alone what about our friends?

"You two are both still kids and I'm not sure if I want you flying half-way across the world alone," my mother said.

"Please??" Lena begged, "I haven't seen Lou in so long!"

"We'll talk about it later. It's late and you have school tomorrow, miss."

My mom walked out the door and I immediately asked Lena why she would be alone this summer.

"After you left, um, our friends kind of left too. Not really, but they said they didn't want to be friends with me, now that you left."

"Oh. Well you're too cool for them anyways!" They what? I can't believe our friends would just ditch Len like that!

"Yeah whatever though. Well, Lou Bear, I'm going to bed! Tomorrow we commence operation 'Get Mom to Let Us Go to the US'."

"Ok, Len," I laughed, "see you in the morning!" Ugh,I have to tell her sometime that it wouldnt just be us.
