I'm waiting in the library. The CS lab is inside the library so we have to wait in the library until they call us.
Nana and Priya are both not here yet. Uhh, I'm so bored.
I kept looking at the door to see when they were coming. I was sitting alone so it was a bit embarrassing.
Then I see a boy coming in. Now that's a face I know. He scans the whole library before having eye contact with me. Then he paused and came in my direction.
I was surprised. I usually have a neutral face so I'm not worried about making an embarrassing face.
"Hey.", he says.
A simple hey.
"Hi", I reply.
"Let's go inside."
He says but I sense no authority.
"No", I say.
"........"
He just stares at me waiting for my answer.
I deliberately didn't say the reason cause I didn't want to go with him. I'm usually good with unknown people but not him.
Not when he stares at me with those eyes.
I sigh.
"Nana and Priya are not here yet."
He takes a moment then opens his phone.
"Nana sent me this though." He says and proceeds to show me his chats with Nana.
....
Nana: We're already inside the CS lab. We had to talk to miss about something so we came early. You can take your time. Btw, Tia is waiting inside the library to show you where the CS lab is.
Cade: Sure.
....
Oh wow.
I am speechless.
I pick my bag and start to walk. Cade follows behind.
We enter the CS lab.
Nana is sitting at our usual place. She's my partner for most of the practicals. But wait... Do I see someone sitting next to her?
I wanted to go toward her and ask her but the teacher spots me and Cade. She tells us to take another PC.
I have no choice. I gave Nana a confused look but she just smiled at me....
The PC Cade and I had was very far away to the corner of the room.
Cool, now I won't be able to see a thing from here.
"Do you have good eyesight?", I ask him while sitting on the chair in front of the PC. He takes the chair next to mine.
"Yeah.", he replies.
He didn't ask me why.
"Then can you write down what she says cause I can't see a thing from here."
I try to sound casual.
"Oh sure. Then you'll type won't you? Cause I've just recently taken CS and I don't have a habit of typing much."
Oh thank God. I was afraid he was gonna ask that he wanted to type cause all beginners are curious.
If he had taken it, then we would have needed all day to type all the programs. Also, it's good for me cause I like typing.
"Yeah, I will."
...........
After the practical:
"I'm so sorry Tia, but we had to check something important with the teacher so we came first."
She says but I know she's faking it.
"It's fine," I tell her.
"Yes but still----" I cut her off before she made more excuses.
"I have to go. I'm going by bus today cause I have to drop by somewhere. You can go ahead without me."
She says okay then smiles and leaves with Priya.
Oh, shit. I forgot to ask her about her partner today and why she sat with her.
Cade was right next to me this whole time. I don't know what he is waiting for.
"Bye. I'll leave you alone now."
He said it like he meant he was bothering me. I wanted to correct him but I was too tired to think of his feelings.
So I just saw him disappearing before my eyes.
