- Somewhere at the Base -

"Listen to me, Itami. The Special Region is a treasure trove for us. First off, it's vast inhabitable land, second an abundance of untapped resources then as a cherry on top there is no pollution to speak of no to mention The civilization level of the locals is as far from us as an ant would be from an elephant. And this world has only opened its gates to Japan. We've started to find mineral deposits right outside the doorsteps of the base that could turn the world economy upside down. Now, what you did, it wasn't just bring back some refugees but you made contact with a civilization hundreds, if not, thousands of years far ahead of ours. And from what intel you gave us, they have a Galactic spanning civilization, just think of the worlds worth of resources we'd have access to. That's a civilization you want to be friends with no matter what. Once the government finds out about them, the whole world will eventually find out, offers of power and wealth will be given to those marines just for them to teach us how to make their technology... "

Akira paused taking a deep breath as he prepared to say his next words.

"So I'm telling you, Itami, this is what the government people want to know. Is it worth the risk of turning every nation on earth against us!?"

"And if it does?"

"In politics, the country with the most assets wins, but the country with the best allies will make any resource worthless. This is an extreme example, if we could acquire the resources of the Special Region then add the technology we could gain from the other gate, we could make a choice like that."

"Yanagida. All I did was bring some refugees over here and escort a diplomatic team."

"You've built a relationship of trust and friendship with both. You're the most important person in this base as of yet."

Akira then started to walk off.

"Itami, in a few days, you'll be given an enormous amount of freedom to act. Put it to good use."

It was night, a few hours had already passed since the diplomatic talks had ended and by that the dominion recon team has done his job now they will return to their base to report to the government and prepare a suitable diplomatic envoy,But because it's already too late they got permission to stay the night with the Japanese , And now they were talking with matt in the large armored truck.

"So!! they approve upon the treaty , very good! with that we can continue operation without facing problems from this peoples" said matt through the screen that was put inside the truck

"Yes ,But sir! they want to start a diplomatic talk with our government as soon as possible! they even suggest a cultural and technological exchanging and offer some very favorable terms to us!" said orion

"Any ideas what they are up too?"

"I think they are afraid from us but at the same time they want to get close to us for all the benefit they could gain ,For all we know they could monopolize all the technologie they could get their hand on to themselves away from the other nation in their world!"

"Wouldn't that cause a problem for them?" said jack" I'm not a politician but wouldn't the attempt to monopolize the gate and it's ressources cause them even more troubles!, After all their world space technology is still at it's beginning stage witch mean they only have access the a limited resources on their planet, And this gate is a gold mine of resources for them and I don't think any nation specially the big power houses will let this chance slide, Hell! they could even start a war for it, And with our existence here revealed to them they will even be more persistence in order to get our technologie!"
