Koprulu sector (Char) 

 Though a relative peace or perhaps truce have been held between the three great races it did not deter any of them from preparing from when the next great war were to occur.

 Such as the case for the Zerg as they have been building up their forces for the time they needed to defend their territory or wanted to claim something for themselves.

Being born of pure Zerg . Zagara maintained the very ideal of the Swarm. Though their former queen Kerrigan had given her blessing handing over leadership to the new queen, it did come with an unspoken wish. That was essentially to end the conflict with the Terrans and the protoss. There has been enough bloodshed between them.

Though Zagara did not understand such sentiments, she honored those wishes nonetheless only making claim to a couple of planets around their homeworld.

Char (inside one of the evolution chambre)

Twiddling away in his evolution chamber was the spider like Zerg Abathur. Working tirelessly, new strains had been developed. thought the protoss were difficult to keep an eye on due to their advanced technology and complex physiology. However Terrans were different. Though they had created countermeasures against their parasites and infestation, they had a new form of tracking in the form of a bacteria like Zerg. Spun together on the genetic level, the unicellular organism could not be detected by current Terran methods. However that was as far as their usefulness was as any further the tool builders(as he describe the terrans) would become aware of them.

Up to recent events something interesting had caught Abathur's attention. A planet the Terrans had incidentally come across and he decide to check it. Though in the beginning it was only filled with a lot of useless human matter, there was quite a few interesting fauna among these weak, primitive, and savage bipedals. But later on he found something on this planet something special there was one thing on this world he definitely wanted to get his claws on.

"Hmm . . . . Dragon essence . . . . Interesting . . . . Strong . . . . Flexible. Will help improve Zerg.  Must collect essence". conclude Abathur 

in fact abathur didn't care about disrupting the peace between the three great races, even so he did respected the wishes of his last queen but nonetheless he will take any opportunity arises to collect powerful essence that could help strengthen the zerg

but how will he do it ? Abathur have to find a way to collect the essence without any of the terrans from the two gates meddling in his affaires(he is presuming that the other gate belong to one the terrans factions because they use similar weapons) besides he knows that the ZCGFU will not remain silence when they figured out his plan and definitely will retaliate in worse case scenario he also will be killed

abathur have to be carful with his action so that he do not cause another uproar that he may not be able to walk safely from it

Abathur had a plan, he had to move quickly and carefully if he seceded he can collect the essence of the dragon on the planet . And when he done everything else that gonna happened later was irrelevant to him.

Koprulu sector (Aiur)

 Contrary to what the Terrans thought, the Protoss were very well aware of the 'gate' that had opened on their capital world.
