Charlie has left I am pretty tired so I go upstairs to freshen up and change into my pajamas. I go into my room and find my backpack on my desk chair. SCHOOL! Ugh.... I totally forgot. No joke. I forgot again. Maybe I forgot because I was having to much fun with Charlie tonight. I put my history binder in my bag, which was laying on my desk from Friday night when I did my homework. My phone buzzed on my desk and it was a text from Charlie in a group message with two other friends of ours, Shayna (pronounced Shane with an '-a' at the end) and James.
Charlie: hey guys. Sorry if it's late but, my mom is working tomorrow at the cafe and I was wondering if you guys want to do homework at the library after school. My mom is fine with it and I wondering if you guys are up with it?
All three of us answered immediately.
Carlos: ya sure. But I have to leave a little early bc my parents and Juan (his brother) are all out of town and I have to be home for a while but sure I would like that. Thanks for the invite.
Carlos is a nice kid. His grandparents are from Mexico and can speck fluent Spanish. He's really helpful for me and Shayna for Spanish homework. Charlie and I met him in third grade when he moved here to Minnesota from Montana.
Me: ya sure. My parents are going to be working. So ya sure.
Shayna: YES PLEASE. I have nothing to do after school. well, except homework, but you know what I mean. My mom says it's fine with her. See ya tomorrow guys.
Shayna also came to Minnesota in third grade. She first became best friends with Carlos and then met us two and all four of us became like really close friends. Her mom is from Ireland and it's really cool. Her dad passed away a year ago in a car accident and she was really affected by it.
Charlie: okay I'm glad to here it. See ya.
~conversation over~
I set my alarm for 6:30 am and go straight to bed.
~the next morning~
I wake up to the loud sound of the alarm. I grope around to grab my phone and turn off the alarm then turn the light on. I go to my closet to pick an outfit for school. After changing, I grab my bag and go downstairs to eat breakfast, which is a glazed donut and an apple.
I finish breakfast and grab my bike to ride to school. There's snow on the ground but not a lot. I get to school and a huge group of kids are crowded infront of the school with caution tape in front on the walkway that gets you into the school. Police are here and chatters are going around. I see Charlie and Shayna and I meet up with them, but I don't see Carlos.
