Chapter surviving orphan hood

After dinner I was prompted to tell my story of survival. Everyone was curious on how I was able to stay hidden and safe for all these years.

"I know you all are curious so I'll start from the beginning. The night before the massacre I had a dream. Being a child it was so hard to comprehend. It was flashes of red, flashes of wolves, flashes of people I've never seen. With each flash came feelings despair, grief, happiness, love. I didn't understand it then but now I know it was a warning that I would experience great grief and despair, but somewhere and somehow I would be happy and loved again. In the morning everyone was in a panic my mom had a dream of her own. She knew what was coming and she knew they wouldn't survive. All the kids were getting sent to other packs all except me. When I asked my mother she said the moon goddess had other plans for me. My mom somehow knew exactly when the attack would come. Daddy kissed me goodbye as me and my mom walked to our tree house. I asked her to stay with me there she said she couldn't that the fates would only save one of us that day and it had to be me. I begged her as she climbed down the ladder. She told me to stay quiet and hidden and that she would always be with me. I would never see anyone from my pack again."

As tears fall down my eyes Bastian holds me.

"you don't have to continue if the memory is too painful my love" Bastian whispers.

"I want you all to know the full story you are my family now. While I was up there I could hear all the screams. I could hear the growls and the tearing of flesh. It took all my strength not to peak outside. The moon goddess was next to me holding me in her arms telling me I would see them all again someday in paradise. Im not sure how long I was up there but the first peek I took outside was the day your pack came to bury mine. I had to stay hidden the moon goddess had her own plan to defeat this monster but I had to stay hidden till then. He had to think I was dead or every pack that helped me would die. I watched your pack carry my mother's body just like I watched that monster kill her. I wanted so much to reveal myself but I couldn't. I was determined then to learn everything the goddess had to teach me so that I may one day rip his throat like he ripped so many others."

"From that day on I trained daily to become what I am. At first I was powerless or so I thought. The Goddess wanted me to be strong even as a normal wolf so she suppressed my powers. It taught me a lot I'm an excellent fighter, and living in the trees has made me an excellent tree climber. I can swing from branch to branch, jump from rooftop to rooftop and that's just without my powers. I was giving my powers back once she was sure I could kick ass regularly. I was trained even harder by the goddess then by my own pack. I learned how to raise mountains from the earth, how to use the wind to thrown someone or how to suffocate someone using air. I learned how to command the animals to attack in my favor. How to use the birds as my eyes and ears. My control of the elements, of nature, of the animals was completely enhanced. The goddess forced my change at 13 the suppressed my wolf as soon as damen captured me."

"I want you all to know I'm glad I've found your pack and Damen. You all served the purpose the moon goddess had for you. So don't be too angry with Damen it was her plan. Im stronger for it. He's been through so much already and most of it at the cause of my on mate. So if I can forgive him so can you." I say strongly

The alpha stands and walks over to Damen.

"As alpha of this pack I give you our forgiveness and I would also like to apologize for our part in your heartbreak. We welcome you to stay with us you and your pack for as long as you need."

"Thank you I appreciate it. I'm also sorry for my part in your packs temporary heart break. I know I put you's through much grief and I can't take it back but I can help you defeat this monster." Damen replies

"I'm sorry Damen most of this is my fault. After meeting my mate I know that what I did was beyond wrong. Nothing can excuse being with some ones mate. I can't even imagine someone taking Fina from me. No hard feeling?" Bastian says.

"you know Bastian I think you actually did me a favor with that one. Maybe that was part of the plan as well. Get your heart broken but in the process learn your mate is a horrible bitch." Damen chuckles.

"Now that is settled how about we get to work on killing that creature." I say with a smile as I hug Bastian.
