More Than Friends.

chapter 3.

The rest of the school week was really boring. But school just started so I have to get used to it.

Friday night Dakota had a soccer game and he invited me to go. Of course I said yes. I loved watching his games. It makes me happy because he enjoys it so much.

The game ended with a victory from Dakota's team. To celebrate his parents took us for ice cream. When we finished, we went back to Dakota's house so we could hangout for a bit.

After a while of watching movies, Dakota's mom came in the room. "Kayley if you want, you can spend the night here if your parents say its okay." I say thank you and call my mom to tell her im staying here tonight.

" Kay lets go for a walk" Dakota suggested.

" but it's 1 A.M what if we get kidnapped?!?"

He laughed "Don't worry I'll keep you safe. I promise."

We ended up walking around town talking about anything we could think of.

Dakota and I found lake somewhere in the woods so we sat on the pier just looking out at the water so I figured it was a good time to tell him how I feel.

"Hey Dakota there is something I-"

" Lets jump in." he interrupted.

Shit. There goes my chance. I just ignore the fact that I was going to tell him I like him and we stand up to jump in. Dakota takes off his shirt and joggers so he was in his boxers. I had a dress on so I took that off and threw it aside.

We held hands ready to jump in.

" On a count of three..."

"1...2...3!"

Dakota let go leaving me go in the cold lake by myself. I pretended to drown a little to get back at him.

" Dakota help! I Can't breathe!" which was half true from laughing so hard.

" Oh my god Kayley I'm so sorry!" Dakota jumps in and grabs a hold of me and squeezes. "you'll be okay I promise I won't let go. Ever."

I started laughing until I realized what he said.

" Don't do that to me! I was really worried about you, Babe!"

Did he just call me babe?!? Oh shit what just happened?

*chuckles* "sorry Kota. But did you just call me babe?" I said as he's still holding me.

he quickly let go and got out out of the water. I could tell he was blushing. " Uhh what? n-no. we should start drying off."

I got out of the water and we laid there together until we dried. Then we put our clothes back on and started walking back to his house. it was a pretty quiet walk. we barely talked. it was nice though. just to know he was with me.

we got back to his house at about 3 AM and I was cold so he let me barrow his hoodie and a pair of his sweatpants. we put another scary movie on, got in his bed and cuddled again. I was really nervous I don't know why either. Dakota just makes my heart beat really fast. I had my head on his chest so I could tell his was too.

I was really warm and comfortable in his arms. I was starting to fall asleep but I heard Dakota say " I wish I knew how to tell you I love you."
