“Hey, girl. Wanna go upstairs?” a guy slurs out to my mother, making his girlfriend slap him in the face. “What the hell, dude?” he asks, looking at his girlfriend.
“We're over!” she squeals out, running outside, with tears streaming down her cheeks.
“Get the hell out of my house!” my mom yells, as they slowly walk towards the door. “Now!” she yells, as the two boys, and one remaining girl, left.
“Man, now I know where that chick gets her sassiness from!” I hear the drunk guy slur out, making the couple tell him to shut up.
Once they're gone and we finally can't hear them anymore, there was an awkward silence in the room which was suddenly removed and replaced with loudness. “AnnaSophia Grace!” my mother yells.
Because she is using my full name, she’s really mad at me and I suddenly regret what I've done.
I put my head down in shame as she screamed at me.
“I saw plastic, red cups and people passed out, lying down on our lawn! I told you not to invite anyone over except for Ashley and Bridgit! I told you not to party! I told you to call me before you'd even invite one person over! I'm so disappointed in you, Sophia! Why would you do this? You're a good girl!” she yells out, dropping her bags off at the front door and she takes off her jacket, putting it on the coat hanger.
She then slowly walks over to the couch and slowly sits down on it.
She stays silent, queuing for the girls to leave, which they shortly do, saying they'll return my clothes the next day or something like that, but I wasn't listening to them. I was too busy thinking about what my mother would do to me. Would she send me to live with my dad? Would she take me with her to her business trips and make me get home schooled?
“You're grounded until the end of school,” she says. As I'm about to protest, I hesitate and I realize that I can't. I got myself into this mess. I would probably do the same if I were her.
I walked up the stairs and went inside my room, burying my head in my pillow, groaning inside of it. What have I done?
Monday
Mom had taken away all of my electronics, like my iPod, iPhone, T.V., laptop, which I didn't really mind, although I am more of a technology freak, but it wasn't like I would die. I was also told that I couldn't wear make-up, as it “makes me waste an hour in the morning” and that I had “natural beauty.”
Pff, yeah, as if!
But I do admit, it only took me thirty minutes to get ready and I had showered, blow dried and straightened my hair and I also got ready in my usual skinny jeans and crop top.
(Not actually sure if there are uniforms in public schools in America since I'm from Canada... But let's pretend. :P)
I slipped on my TOMS and ran downstairs, with my schoolbag hanging off one arm, and my mom was cooking and asked me to set the table for her and me.
I didn't want to sound rude or anything, but I wasn't so hungry and I didn't really do breakfast, although it’s “the most important meal of the day!”
I usually eat breakfast when I come back home, which is odd.
“Would you eat with me, today?” she asked me. She was probably sad for leaving me for another two months, I don't know why else she would be nice to me, when clearly; I made a big, big mistake on Friday night.
“Oh, yeah.” I answer back, a smug smile on my face. As much as I didn't really want to eat or talk to my mom, I decided this was the best way to make up for Friday. To be as nice as possible to her, even though I was the one who messed up Friday and I should be the one being nice, not her.
I set the table for the two of us and after a few bites, I could spot a huge, dark yellow vehicle waiting on the road. “Oh, the bus is here, gotta go.” I say, shoving my mouth with omelettes, and then kissing my mom on the cheek, soon popping a gum in my mouth so I didn't have bad breath.
As soon as I got onto the bus, people cheered and some even boo'ed. “That was a cool party, but will you make up for it ending so soon?” a guy smirked at me, as I just rolled my eyes.
“No.” I say, walking away, without even looking at his reaction. He probably thought I'd say yes or something, but whatever, I do what I want, not what others expect.
“So....?” Ashley asks, putting her hand on my lap, as soon as I took a seat next to her and Bridgit in the bus. Since we were all skinny, — not to sound arrogant, or anything — we all fit onto the two-seater.
“So?” I question, as Bridgit gives me a weird look. “So did you get in trouble or what?” Ashley asks, making Bridgit give her a weird look.
“No, my mom was completely fine with me serving underage people alcohol and practically trashing the place. You know, when my mom got to her bed, she found it unmade... Meaning that the two couple upstairs, they, uh, both went in her room and did things!” I say, making them both shiver.
“Sorry for such a stupid question, Soph.” Ashley says, shaking her head. “So, what really happened?” Ash asks, really concerned.
“Well, um, I'm grounded until the end of school, which isn't much of a big deal, to be honest. I just don't get to text you guys or go on Skype. I can't even watch T.V.! Well, that is, if, my mom un-grounds me and gives me my stuff back . . . Or she might be stupid to remember to put a password on my devices, but I doubt neither will happen.” I ramble, sighing at the end.
“Well, can you come over? Or can I come over? Your mom’s going on a business trip soon, so, like, you can do it behind her back, right?” Ashley asks, in deep thought. “You can't spend your summer moping around your house, you know? You need a tan!” Ashley yells out, out of nowhere.
“Shut up! Plus, your mom doesn't let you go to my house or me go to your house unless she talks to my mom. Maybe Bridgit can, but not really with you.” I admit, shrugging.
“I could, um, say we're shopping! We can shop, right?” Ashley smiles. “I love shopping!”
“Uh, problemo! I don't have any money to shop with...” I tell her, making her smile turn into a frown.
“Well, I could say we're shopping but go to your house instead! I'll tell my mom I didn't buy anything!” Ashley exclaims, making Bridgit and I give her a look. “You? Going to a mall? Not buying anything? Yeah, right.” Bridgit scoffs.
“We don't really have a choice here, so we'll just hope for the best and hopefully, Sophia will be ungrounded and she can hang with us this summer.” Bridgit says, making Ashley agree shortly.
“Yeah, hopefully.” I say.
Sorry that this chapter is long, ( Hint the sarcasm!! )
