I started band when I was in 5th grade. At first I was playing trumpet, but that only lasted a week. One day when my dad saw me playing a wooden recorder, he thought why not play a reed instrument. I then switched to the Alto Saxophone and kept playing that for five years.

My dad had found the Alto I play now on the side of the road by Cheveron. He payed $150 dollars for it and now its mine.

In my sophomore year, which is now, I switched to trumpet for marching band.

A science teacher had donated her instrument to the band. So they had an extra trumpet. When I decided to switch to trumpet, my band director Ms. Lizana gave me the trumpet saying to fix it and its mine. So now I own two instruments.

The reason I switched is because 1) There are too many altos in my band 2) I really like the trumpet and 3) The music for trumpet is easier.

My dad was in band when he was in highschool and I think college. He played the french horn. I just wanted to follow my dad's footsteps somehow and I really like band.

But ohmegerd its such hard work.
