Dinner had gone way better than I had expected.

I mean, I was honestly fully expecting it to be some stiff, awkward affair where I would be the odd one out and mess something up. But it wasn't like that at all.

Our cousins were fun and really easy to talk to. I was honestly surprised at how quickly I relaxed around them. By the end of the night, I was laughing and smiling so much that my cheeks were sore.

Out of all of them, Grayson was probably the one who had surprised me the most. He was twenty-six, just a few months younger than Damon, but he didn't have that same air of intimidation like my eldest brother did.

He was a lawyer and ran his own law firm, which was super impressive. But he didn't carry himself like he was all that important. Instead, he had this easygoing charm about him which made him more amusing than Damon.

Then there was Salvatore, who worked as an AISE agent, which I found really interesting. The way he talked about his job was like something out of an action movie and I fascinated by it. He was rather sly and would lower your guards so smoothly you wouldn't even notice, but gentle nonetheless.

Blake was the sweetest one out of them all. He was studying in an aviation college, but what stood out the most was how much he stayed away from home. He lived in Florence for college and I could tell how much he missed his brothers. He was really humble and welcoming.

And then there was Zyran, the most random one of them all. He was always talking, always saying something funny or off-the-wall and his energy was contagious. He was still in high school, the exact same age as the twins but a few months older than them.

Time flew by fast and before I knew it, Ezekiel had begin cutting his huge birthday cake. And since Kallias would never miss a chance of annoying him, he teamed up with Zyran and smothered whipped cream over his cheeks.

To say Ezekiel was mad would be an understatement. He pulled Zyran into a headlock before he could run away, though Kallias had managed to do so successfully, and almost suffocated him to death, if it weren't for Elijah who pulled them apart.

It was hilarious, though, and definitely an eventful end to the fun night.

After all of that, we finally said our goodbyes and by the time we got back home, I was exhausted. The night had been a whirlwind, but in a good way.

"I feel like shit." Kallias groaned, stretching out his legs as soon as we entered the house.

"That is what happens when you run around like a fucking rat in a restaurant." Ezekiel snaps, still grimacing from the stickiness coating his cheeks. "I am going to take a shower, goodnight."
