Chapter Five: Off to school we go!

"Anju?" Kai asks staring at the excited and raging students surrounding us screaming like crazy with worry. "Yes?" I fix my school skirt to get rid of any wrinkles with one hand while the other holds a school bag, our backs pressed against the board.

"How did I get dragged into this mess?" I just chuckle nervously in response.

A few hours earlier

I was sitting in one of the many chairs in the broadcast room staring at the bottle of water in my hand. The break was going to end soon and everyone was adjusting the lights getting ready for the last song of the day. I sighed, not really paying attention to what they said. Kai walked over to me with a paper in his hand.

"Hey, you okay? You've seemed pretty out of it ever since we came back from our walk." He said handing me the paper. I read it and saw it was the song we were supposed to sing now.

I shrugged, "I'm okay, it's just my mind has been wandering to distant memories." My hand hovered over my left shoulder, where my scar is. "You remember when I told you about my past?" I looked up at him when a said this. He nodded and kneeled in front of me staring at me with his intense golden eyes. "You mean Yuichiro Hyakuya?" he asked and I nodded in response.

"But he seems fine and better yet alive." He smiled "why don't you go talk to him? I mean without your disguise."

I was going to answer but the director was already calling us to the stage, "We go live in three minutes people!" he yelled.

Kai stood up and made his way to the stage, I was going to go after him but was stopped by a hand on my shoulder. I turned to see Guren and sighed "What now?"

He rolled his eyes "Come to my office after this." I was going to ask why but the director yelled "One minute!" Guren stepped back and gestured with his head to the stage with a smirk on his face. I scoffed and turned on my heel stepping on the stage just when the music started playing. This was a duet between Kai and I, he started to sing to the song "Still I fly"
