"Hm," she hummed. "Pasarap na nang pasarap yung timpla mo!" she beamed at me.
I sighed in relief. I've been watching her closely since I placed her cup infront of her. I was nervous since the first one I gave her yesterday was too bitter according to her. While the second one was too sweet the day before yesterday.
It took me a lot of trials and errors. Now, I think I made it right since she's beaming at me like a cute little kid.
"That's good to hear." I replied after a while, still watching her enjoy her cup of tea.
"Ang swerte talaga nung babaeng nagugustuhan mo at talagang pinilit mong matutunan 'to!" She exclaimed and even pointed the now half—a—cup coffee.
"Mas swerte ako." I looked away and mumbled, just enough for myself to hear.
"Still! You're not spilling the tea! I want to meet her kaya!" Her lips protruded a bit that really emphasized her crossbow-shaped lips.
"You already did, tho." I spoke softly and looked at her eyes. I saw a glimpse of hope, shock and hurt all at once.
Oh, darling.
"I-I did?" She stammered and held the cup of coffee tightly.
"You should've told me who she is, so that I could greet her when I see her. Ni-hindi ko man lang alam na nakilala ko na pala siya." She said, still not looking at me.
I couldn't help but chuckle at her reaction. Hindi ko na talaga alam ang gagawin ko sa babaeng 'to.I saw her glaring at me so I stopped myself from chuckling any further.
"Do you want to see her now?" I asked her as I took a seat in front of her.
She looks hesitant at first, but then nodded her head slowly. I took out my phone and tapped the camera icon. I switched it to the front cam and hand the phone her. Her hand was even trembling a bit as she hold my phone.
When she looked at my screen I saw her eyebrows knotted a bit."Are you kidding me, Earl?" She asked me, annoyed.
"No, I'm not, Chie." I even placed my chin on my palm as I look at her.
"This is your cam. It's not even a pic of the girl you like. All I see is myself!" She said, completely annoyed now.
"Exactly." A moment of silence fell upon us. I let it be. I let the realization hit her.
"Huh.. Wait.. W-what?" She blinked her eyes repeatedly.
"Who do you see on my phone again?" I asked her again, stopping myself from smiling.
"Myself." I smiled after hearing her clearly this time. Without any signs of nervousness. Without stuttering.
"Do I still need to word it out for you?" I asked her, looking at her amused.
She looked at me in disbelief.
"Come on. I've been admiring you since we were kids. I thought it was just a passing fancy or a childish puppy love, but nah. Look where did it lead me." I laughed softly, remembering the memories we shared in the past.
I've been learning how to make her favorite coffee two years ago, since I've heard her talking to our mutual friend that a man who can make her favorite coffee is one of her standard. So, I gave it a thought that maybe I could atleast pass her standard.
I only got the chance to let her taste the coffees I make this year since we were busy for the past few years, trying to build ourselves.
"It leads me to learning how to make your favorite coffee."
