Washi's POV
I absentmindedly stirred my tea, my mind preoccupied with running over the events of the past 24 hours.
Yumi and I had been attacked by Aliens.
I sighed as I placed my spoon gently down on the table, running my hands through my blonde hair, even in my head it sounded ridiculous. My eyes wandered around the living room before settling on Yumi playing with his cars and action figures by the fire. I watched the firelight dance on his fair hair, casting a warm glow on his pale cheeks as it reflected in his crystaline blue eyes.
My strong little soldier.
He bounced back from the attack quicker than what I did, more focused on playing with his toys rather than thinking about the existence of Aliens, I, on the other hand, couldn't stop thinking about it, not since Keiichiro and Ryou answered my questions. Well, most of them.
"Oneesama?" I looked over at Yumi, his eyes clouding over as he looked at me, "Oneesama, what's wrong?" I shook my head as he stood, walking over to me.
"Nothing Yumi, I'm just tired that's all." I smiled and lifted him onto my lap, tickling him as he burrowed his face into my neck. That's how we sat for about ten minutes, me rocking him slightly on my lap until I felt him begin to breathe deeply. Sighing, I looked down again and saw his eyes closed and his mouth slightly ajar as he breathed in and out.
"Aw..." I cooed, looking down at him, I stood slowly - trying not to jostle the boy in my arms - and walked up the stairs, placing him in his bed and tucking him in before checking his windows were locked and curtains shut. I placed a soft kiss on his forehead and retreated downstairs to pick up his toys.
My eyes widened as I realised it was only half past six and Yumi was fast asleep, he almost never slept until after I was asleep, he usually came into check, and hardly ever before eight. Dumping his toys in the toy chest, I picked up his plastic cup and my cold cup of tea before taking them into the kitchen and stowing them in the dishwasher.
My eyes shot to the hallway as a knock sounded from the front door. I'd been awful jumpy since the whole Alien thing happened, jumping at small noises, screaming when someone dropped something, it was getting ridiculous. I was being ridiculous. The knock sounded again as I placed my hand on the door handle, pulling it open to reveal the purple haired waitress from Café Mew Mew, but she had on regular clothes now.
She smiled, obviously seeing my confused expression, "Are you Washi Hotaru?" I nodded smiling back at the girl, "I'm Zakuro Fujiwara. Akasaka and Shirogane-San asked me to come get you, apparently they need to talk to you about something." She shrugged, smiling slightly at me again.
"Nice to meet you, but now?" She nodded, "I can't - I've only just put my brother to bed, and I don't mean to be rude but I don't really know you well enough to leave you with my brother..." She smiled at me again, slightly warmer this time.
"This is why they sent me instead of one of the younger waitresses - I can handle an eight year old, and about the not knowing me, I can call Akasaka-San if you need me too." I smiled at her as she smirked knowingly, stepping aside so she could get in, she turned to look at me, "They're at the café, just let yourself in when you get there."
"Yumi's already asleep, first door on your left upstairs, help yourself to anything!" I smiled at her as I grabbed my coat and slipped on my converse over the tights and shorts I'd changed into when I got home earlier. She smiled and handed me my keys from the side.
"Everything'll be fine, I'll see you when you get back."
***********************************************************************************************************
It was eerie, walking down the road at almost seven at night, you'd expect people to be around - this is Tokyo after all - although we're not in the busiest part of Tokyo, so it's not always crowded, but it's rush hour, it should be packed.
I pulled my coat tighter around me as a sudden gust of wind blew past me, almost knocking me over with the force of it. As soon as the wind slowed, I quickened my pace - it felt like someone was watching me. A hot breath ran across the back of my neck causing me to spin around on the spot.
I scanned the area for any possible threats before turning around and slamming straight into somebody. I jerked back from the close contact, a sharp yelp escaping my lips in surprise as the figure grabbed me by my throat, slamming me into a wall before forcing me to look up into a pair of sharp grey eyes.
"Wha--" My protest was cut off abrubtly as my captor began to squeeze my windpipe. I wasn't an idiot. I began to struggle, carelessly kicking out my legs and clawing at his hand.
"Cease human! I merely want your spirit." My eyes widened as I realised he was an Alien. I dug my nails into his hand, trying to pull it away from my throat as he lifted his free hand and spread it out, aiming it at my chest.
I felt his hand release my throat as my body began to hover, held up by the power of whatever force was radiating from his spread hand, I was paralysed. I began to feel a slight tugging on my chest, as though there was something inside me that wanted out, it was fine at first, it didn't feel particularly good but it didn't hurt, then he frowned.
A sharp pain jabbed through my chest, as the feeling intensified I tried to scream out but all I accomplished was a small breath of air through my teeth, the shallow breaths escaping my lungs preventing anything else. As suddenly as it came, the pain disappeared, replaced by a light, happy feeling... I almost felt as though I'd been seperated from my body.
I heard an intake of breath and tingles erupted all over my body, this feeling was amazing. I felt my wrist start to burn"You're one of them!" The hiss was from in front of me, I opened my eyes, having to blink them to make them adjust to the bright light... funny, I thought it was getting dark when I left the house... oh well.
"Wait, what do you mean I'm "One of them"? Who's them?" The Alien came slightly closer, forcing me to back up a step. He appraised the way I looked and I took the time to look him over. He was fairly tall, about six foot, he had dark purple-black hair that was in a braid on one side of his face, the rest of it just flopping on his head. He was wearing a... it looked like a jumpsuit... it was a dark purple vest top with a sheer part going over his stomach, his trousers were the same as his top but he was wearing wraps around his ankles and calves with regular black shoes, his tie from his trousers flowed behind him.
"You don't know... hmph. Come, human. You could be of use to me." I frowned at the Alien as he stretched out a clawed hand to me, did he think I would actually go willingly with him? I opened my mouth to retort when a flash of blue light hit him from behind, propelling him into me and resulting in us both sprawled on the ground, him layed on me, unconsious.
"Jeez," I sat up and pushed his dead-weight onto the pavement beside me. "You couldn't have come a little earlier?"
