Once again, Washi found herself sat at the dining table, stirring a cup of tea that had already gone cold. So first, Aliens attacked her in her own home. Now, she finds out that the reason they did, is because she was a Mew? Some kind of Magical Girl.

Her mind flitted back to earlier in the day.
-
"What did they do to me?" She'd asked the same thing moments before, but now instead of the hysteria that had been in her voice before, there was only quiet anger. Akasaka stepped towards her, his hands up so as not to frighten her.

"This... this wasn't the Aliens." Washi looked at him sharply, her hands resting on her lap formed into tight fists, digging her nails into her palms.

"And... what... does that mean?" It was taking an immense amount of effort to keep her voice steady and she wasn't sure she liked where this was headed. "Who did this to me?"

Akasaka flinched, recoiling slightly at the accusatory tone of her voice. Before he could find the words to answer, a new voice cut in.

"We did." Washi turned her gaze on the newcomer, finding the blonde boy who worked with Akasaka leaning against the doorframe. "No need to glare, I think you should be thanking us." Washi choked back a laugh, jumping to her feet so quick her chair flew backwards. "You're alive because of what we did."

"I should be thanking you?" The girl laughed, slowly advancing on the boy in front of her. "You're right. I should thank you. After all," She threw her hands up in a shrug, her voice rising. "You're the reason I nearly got killed, you're the reason I nearly got kidnapped, and you're the reason I have these wings on my back!" Washi stood shouting directly in front of the boy now, her teeth gritted and her hands balled into fists by her side.

"You sure are a fiery one aren't you?" He leaned down and took her chin in his hand. "You're going to fit right in." Washi looked at him, a frown growing on her face the longer he spoke.

"I don't want to fit in!" She slapped his hand away as she spoke, giving him a shove for good measure. "What I want, is for you to turn me back!" The blonde boy looked affronted, recovering instantly and returning to his post leaning against the door.

"We can't do that." He shrugged, gesturing at Akasaka. "We can only help you do that." Washi looked between the two of them, gradually getting more angry.

"Why would you do this to me if you didn't know how to fix it? What's wrong with you?" The boy just stared at her, providing no answers. Washi turned to Akasaka. "Well?"

Akasaka frowned, looking at her. "We only planned for five." Washi looked at him, gesturing for him to go on. "You weren't part of the plan. I don't even know what it is you've merged with." Washi just stared at him. Her anger reaching new heights until she just dissolved into tears. Akasaka watched, reaching for her when she sank to the ground. He lifted her, placing her into a chair and fetching her a cup of tea. "I know its difficult, but you'll turn back when the threat is eliminated."

As he spoke, Washi's skin began to glow a pale white, and she was back in her regular clothes. "Hotura please, come downstairs, let us explain to you properly."

"I have to go home." Washi stood, ignoring the twinge in her thigh. She was exhausted, and nothing sounded quite as good as wrapping up with a hot cup of tea and a book.

"Washi, let me drive you home-" The blonde girl shrugged the hand off her shoulder and shook her head vehemently, shooting a venomous side glance at the offender. Akasaka opened his mouth to say something, then closed it again. Good, Washi thought, it serves him right for dumping all of this on her. "Washi..."

"I'm going. Alone." She sighed, pausing on her way out the door. "I need time to think about this." Akasaka stood with his arm slightly outstretched, reaching for her. She ignored it.

-

And that's how she found herself here. Mindlessly stirring a cup of tea. Yumi was next door with Mrs. Fletcher, an elderly woman who sometimes babysat for Washi's mother when she was running late and Washi had swim practice. He'd stay the night. Her mother was away for a work conference again.

She sighed, standing and dumping the cold tea in the sink. What a waste.

She walked over to the patio doors, sliding them open and stepping out into the courtyard that made up their back garden. The blanket around her shoulders was welcomed against the slight chill in the air. She sat, breathing in the air. Everything that had happened had felt so... suffocating. Other people trying to control her and decide what she should do. So what if they gave her this power? They turned her into a freak is what they did. She was furious at them, if only she could stop crying to show it.

She started at a rustling in the bushes ahead of her, if they followed her here from the cafe she'd really give them a piece of her mind! "I thought I told you, I was going home alone!" She stood, swiping at the wetness on her cheeks, her anger mounting again as she realised how weak she must look. If they wanted to play games with her then she'd show them. She picked up a pebble from the ground and threw it at the bushes.

"Ouch! Idiot!" Washi started at the voice, it was unfamiliar. The sky started warping in a familiar way where she'd heard the voice. Where had she seen that before? "You've got good aim. Fiery spirit in you." A person appeared before her. Short dark green hair and a shirt exposing his midriff. In this weather? Crazy.

"Who are you?" The boy stepped towards her with a funny look on his face and she dropped to pick up a bigger pebble. "Stay back! Don't make me hit you again." He paused, then started laughing, throwing his head back and legs out in the process, it was only then she realised he was floating. "What... what are you? How are you doing that?" The boy stopped laughing, looking down at the ground as though he hadn't realised he was doing.

He shrugged, lowering himself to the ground. "If you throw that, I'll make you regret it." Washi scoffed, pulling her arm back to throw it. "Don't do it." What's he going to do, exactly? She thought, Might as well do it now before he actually attacks you. She shrugged, launching the rock at him.

Quick as a flash, he disappeared and she felt a hand enclose around her wrist and jerking it back, the rock slipped through her fingers and hit the ground. "See that wasn't very nice was it?" Washi flinched. The voice was right next to her ear. She lurched forward, pulling away from the boy and putting some distance between them. She stood facing him now. Somehow she didn't think the word boy was enough to describe him at this point. Up close she could see he looked much older than she originally thought, maybe nineteen.

"What..." She cursed inwardly as her voice shook. "What do you want?" He looked at her, really looked. She could see some kind of calculating look in his eye as he watched her. He placed his hands interlinked behind his head and smiled at Washi, flashing a sharp fang.

"Nothing, right now." He laughed again. "I'll be seeing you." Washi watched, her muscles bunched up with tension as the air around him started warping and then, she was alone. She shivered, wrapping her arms around herself and looking around.

Maybe it was best she stay inside at night from now on.
