Sakumo's POV:
I woke up at six o'clock and got dressed, heading straight for the kitchen. Halfway there, I smelt something good. Breakfast? Who was making breakfast? I saw Rain standing in front of the stove, flipping pancakes and scrambling eggs. Hot tea was being made, as well.
Rain: "Good morning, sir. I'm making breakfast."
Me: "So I see."
She handed me a plate fully laden with eggs, bacon, pancakes, and fruit, and a hot cup of tea. Smiling, I sat down at the table with my food and started eating. Rain started making another plate. Kakashi walked in, and she handed him a plate, then turned the stove off, leaned against the wall with her hands in her pockets, and turned her head to the ground with her eyes closed. I raised an eyebrow.
Me: "You're not eating?"
Rain: "No, sir. I don't usually eat."
Me: "Why not?"
Rain: "I guess I never really got hungry."
Kakashi: "Really? Mind telling us the truth?"
Me: "Stop that, Kakashi. If she doesn't want to tell us, she doesn't have to."
Rain: "No, it's fine, sir. Anyone who can tell if a compulsive liar is lying deserves the truth. I never had enough money to buy a lot offood; onlymaybe a meal a day or so, so I just never ate."
Me: "I see. Well, you don't have to worry about that here. You can eat to your heart's content."
Rain: "Thank you, sir." she said, taking our empty plates and cleaning them. "Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go to the Hokage's office."
Me: "Of course." I said, and she poofed away. I turned to Kakashi. "She's certainly...interesting, isn't she?" He shrugged. "Has she always been like that?"
Kakashi: "Yeah. But it got worse a few years ago when her parents died."
Me: "Wait, were her parents Hayato[means falcon and person]and Kokoro [means heart, spirit]Hyuga of the main branch?"
Kakashi: "I think so."
Me: "They were KIA. No wonder she's at that stone every day." I mused, then stood up. "You need to get to training or you're going to be late. I better see if I can get a mission." I said.
Kakashi: "Have a good day." He said, and ran out of the house.
I chuckled and got my weapons pack, then walked out of the house. The Hokage called for me to walk in, which I did, and I saw Rain there.
Hokage: "We have a mission for you two. We need you to go take out some rouge ninja who have sided with our enemies. You will be going with three other ninja of your choosing. Sakumo, you will be leading this mission."
Me: "Yes, sir." I said, and Rain and I left the Hokage's office. Kakashi and his team met us in the hall. "Hello, Minato. Looking for a mission?"
Minato: "Yeah. You?"
Me: "We just got one."
Rain: "Kakashi." everyone looked at her. "The Hokage would like to speak to you, first." He nodded and went into the Hokage's office. "Obito, Rin, Minato sensei. Thank you for your gifts. They are beautiful." she said, and hugged them, surprising us all. Then she looked to the Hokage's door where Kakashi was walking out wearing a Jounin vest. I smiled, and Rain walked over to him. "Congratulations." she said, and hugged him, too. Then she walked away slowly.
Me: "Way to go son. I'm proud of you." he smiled behind his mask, then walked back into the Hokage's office with his team. I caught up with Rain. "What did you tell him?"
