Hidden within the wilderness of the ruggedest mountains, a fearsome battle was being waged between good and evil. Prince Lee of Starliana stared down danger alongside his faithful companion, Captain Elliot. Keeping his hand tucked up his trick sleeve, the young ruler remained ready feom behind his partner's protective safeguard. Just the same, the knight stood firm with his yari raised to ward off the enemy staring them down.

They were challenged by a monster with a wild mane of hair parted by two pointed horns. A fearsome, fiery-red mask resembling an ogre concealed their face. Their body was cloaked in a coat of straw without a shred of armor to be found. With two guardless katanas firmly grasped in his hands, the specter fought like a reckless beast.

The combatants slowly circled around, either waiting to see who would be bold enough to act next.

The yōkai crossed his swords and charged at them with an ear-splitting war cry.

"EEEYADA-ADA-AIYEEEEE!"

Lee reacted by roughly yanking out a sizable ball wrapped in tape that he lobbed at his opponent.

BANG!

When it bounced on the floor, a gunpowder explosion made the casing split apart. A noxious mixture of dirt, hair, and lint swept off the floor was expelled out into the air.

"KOFF! AHOFF! AAAH!"

The yōkai unknowingly collided with the dusty distraction.

"HAAAAIYAAAH!"

Elliot charged back into battle, jutting his spear forward. His opponent intercepted the attack just in time to bat the bladed tip away. It was a powerful blow, but he used that momentum to expertly slide the long weapon atop his arms, circle it around his shoulders, and grab back onto the handle. The samurai kept the formidable foe on his toes with another round of rapid thrusts. Forced to stay on the move, he was unable to raise either weapon to make a counterattack. With so many stabs being strategically delivered to whatever he tried to move, all he could do was fall back.

WAPASSH!

Elliot stepped away just as a loud crack snapped through the air.

The fiend blocked by raising one sword in the direction he heard the noise. Some kind of paper strip caught on the blade. Attempting to cut it off caused it to stick to his other sword. The more he struggled, the more it wound around his weapons until finally realizing it was lined with some sort of powerful glue.

On the other end of the sticky ribbon was Lee, who eyed the savage spook with a flint striker in his freehand.

"Heh-eh, gotcha."

He laughed with a wink before setting the strip alight.

PO POP POPPO POP POP POW!

The rapidly traveling flame ignited a payload of firecrackers that erupted in a series of bright crackling flashes directly in the yōkai's face.

"AARRRH!"

Though undamaging, the attack left a ringing in his ears and blurred his vision. It was so intense; it caused him to see three separate images of the samurai rushing at him.

Elliot took a mighty leap, discarding his spear in favor of unsheathing the katana at his waist. The phantasm swung both swords inward like a giant pair of scissors. He aimed to tear his opponent asunder midair, but even the pragmatic samurai was full of surprises.

Effortlessly, he cleared the attempted assault with a second jump. "HAAAAI YOW!" He swung the blade clean across the demon's face.

CRACKLE!
