Throughout the entire world, one of the most bustling seaports around was none other than Crystal Harbor. Located on the western coast of the Starliana Kingdom, this marina was a major lifeline for the entire dynasty. The richly fertile waters made it a haven for fishing and even served to welcome visitors from all over into the realm. Whether it was business, leisure, or any other reason; nearly all arrivals too, and departures from Starliana were done through Crystal Harbor. One couldn't find a greater model of efficient commerce multiple kingdoms over.
How times have changed.
Nowadays, the industrious waterfront was but a shell of its former glory. Every boat just sat anchored at dock, immobile, and all but abandoned. Ships of all sizes used to come and go every minute of the day, but no longer. What was once a triumph of trade was now just barren emptiness with the sad sight of slumbering sailors littering the pier. With nowhere to go and nothing to do, all they could do was waste away the days on land dreaming of being at sea.
CLIP CLOP CLAPPITY CLOP.
The noise of hoof beats drove one of the mariners to open his tired eyes. Just beyond the limits of the pier, he spotted a horse-drawn carriage speeding along the road. It wasn't just any carriage, though. The sleepy salt let out a gasp of forgotten optimism at recognizing it belonged to the royal family.
"The Queen! The Queen has come!" He cried with glee.
"The Queen?"
"The Queen?!"
"Is it true?"
"Really?"
"Her?"
"Her Majesty is here?!"
It seemed as though everyone residing in Crystal Harbor heard that faithful call. Whether they were on the dock, on a ship, in a shop, or even in a barrel, they arose to confirm the terrific tidings. Clamoring with elation, the port inhabitants all raced to the gates to greet her. The troubles plaguing them would ripple through the entire dynasty, so they were assured aid from the highest authority would be sent to them. No less was expected than the one, the only Queen Janine herself to arrive.
When the carriage came to a stop, the passenger doors parted open, and the first to step out was Captain Elliot of the royal army. The joyous anticipation reached a thunderous crescendo right then and there. The air was filled with applause and songs celebrating the absolute certainty that their beloved queen would rescue them.
The army officer was then followed by the Queen...'s son, Prince Lee.
The cheering abruptly ceased.
Taking in the blank stares aimed his way, Lee could only bite his teeth and shy away by timidly raising his shoulders.
In the awkward silence, all that was heard was the chirping of a loan cricket. Upon careful observation, that little insect was honoring the arrival of the young monarch; the only one doing so.
"H-Hello, umm, everyone."
He finally worked up the courage to address the seaside community. Unfortunately, his words came out low and weak, and his waving hand was limp. This did nothing to impress the hardened mariners.
"Where's the Queen?" A troubled voice vocalized everyone's sentiment.
"Ohh, well you see, my mom," Lee caught himself by clearing his throat, "Ahem, Her Majesty sent us to solve the crisis." Raising his chin and resting his fists on his hips, he smiled with attempted confidence. "I promise we're going to do everything in our power to get you all back on the water, uhh, pinky swear."
