"Dude, don't look now but Diana is totally checking you out. Hit it, bro." Dail patted me on the back.
Across the room, Diana Taylor kept glancing at me, her eyes suggestive in every way. She was known for fucking almost every boy in my grade. All of the girls wanted to be her and all of the boys wanted to be in her. She was just that good. Deciding I wasn't going to give in that easily, I ignored her.
Sex didn't come my way the way it did for most boys. Nothing did though, for that matter. Wanting to be apart of something because everyone else was, was too dependent. As were the people.
Turning around and bringing my cup to my lips, I saw the door swing open. A familiar pair of golden brown eyes swept the room and I could tell she was having a mental debate. Slowly, she stepped inside.
"HEY MILLIE. I'm glad you came, this was starting to get boring," Millie looked up at me and I could tell she didn't want to be here, but she was here which said something.
Pretending I didn't see her discomfort, I placed my hand on the small of her back and guided her into the mass of people, kicking the door shut with my foot. She didn't fidget or giggle at my touch which low-key made me a bit frustrated. "Do you want a drink?"
"Sure." Together, we moved through the crowd of kids that were either way too drunk or way too sober.
In the kitchen, there were 5 or 6 coolers loaded with beer. I didn't want to give her any form of alcohol because that would lengthen Jack's chances of getting her but judging from the way her eyes kept dashing all over the room, she needed it. "Do you have a preference?"
"Sprite." I submerged my hand in the ice and grabbed a platinum before holding it out to her. "6% alcohol content...are you trying to get me drunk?" Her words were laced with amusement mostly.
"Why do you know that?"
"I just do. Sprite please."
Ignoring her, I grabbed a regular Budlight and placed the bottle into her hands. Giving in, she shrugged and twisted the cap off. "Close enough."
I walked back into the living room and she followed behind me. Diana was now beside and talking to Jack, just my luck. She traced her finger down his arm and he pretended not to notice but I could tell he was practically hard already. "Well that played out horribly," I spoke to myself but Millie accidentally heard.
"What did?"
"Quick question. By any chance are you a virgin?"
"That's a trick question, if I say yes I'm a slut and if I say no I'm a prude."
"Did you get that quote from the Breakfast Club?"
"I got the truth from the Breakfast Club."
"Are you going to answer my question?"
"Which one?"
"You're good."
"I know."
Grayson walked down the stairs, buttoning up his shirt and I laughed to myself. Bastard couldn't keep it in for an hour. He got a beer and sat with me and Millie on a couch.
"So, you're new to the neighborhood?"
"I'm new to the state."
"Do you like it here?" I didn't want to spend the entire night talking to her but she didn't know anybody else. Well, aside from Olivia and Vanessa but they were busying themselves with other people; more important people, I thought.
