The Plug's Daughter
Chapter 31: Home is waiting
Bali, Indonesia

Alazhá's POV:

The villa was buzzing with energy as the girls hustled around, getting ready for brunch. It was their last day in Bali so they wanted to knock out as much things as they possibly could. Alazhá was in the bathroom, slicking her edges while singing the lyrics of Scared by Bushy B "ME AND YOUUU, ME AND YOUUU, YO BODY ON MY BODY." While Mariah and Zori were arguing over accessories in the bedroom.

"Girl, hand me my van cleefs !" Zori called out from across the room.

"Nah, these is my earrings!" Mariah shot back, holding them up to her ears.

"Mariah, I swear—"

"Both of y'all sound dumb," Keisha cut in, walking past them, already dressed in a cropped tee, denim jorts, and Rick Owens. "Y'all trippin' over some earrings."

"OH WHO IS YOU?" Mariah and Zori said in unison 'reciting the bhad bhabie meme', before busting out laughing.

Alazhá stepped out the bathroom, her bohemian curls sitting perfectly in between her knotless braids. "Y'all ready? I'm bout to pass out, the queen needs to be fed."

Her phone vibrated in her hand. She glanced down and saw a DM notification pop up.

@JayTheRealDM: Wyo today?

"Y'all, look," Alazhá said, holding her phone up. "Jay from the beach club hit me up."

"What he talm' bout?" Keisha asked, sliding on her Chanel shades.

"He said 'wyo today.'"

"Oh yeah," Zori grinned. "He want the vibes."

"Should I tell him to slide?"

"Girl, yes!" Mariah chimed in. "They was coo. And you know Jay was lookin' at you all night yesterday."

Alazhá laughed, typing back:

Alazhá: We heading to brunch rn, pull up if y'all free.

Jay: Bet, drop the lo.

The brunch spot was so cutesy and pink definitely for the gorlsss, with a live DJ spinning r&b and soul mixes. It was real teaaaa. The girls had already grabbed a corner table outside when Jay and his homeboys showed up.

"Ayeee!" Jay greeted, throwing up a hand. He had on a fitted black tee, Cuban link glistening, and some fresh Amiri MA-1 sneakers. His homeboys Ty and Meech followed behind him.

"Wassup!" Mariah grinned, scooting over to make space.

"Y'all good?" Jay asked, dapping up each girl as they exchanged greetings.

"We outside!" Zori said, raising her mimosa glass.

The waiter came by, and the guys started ordering.

"Yo, let me get some of them... uh... them lil' potato things," Meech said, pointing at the menu.

"You mean hashbrowns?" Alazhá teased.

"Yeah, yeah," Meech grinned. "Them joints hit."

As the food started arriving, conversation flowed easily. The girls were cracking jokes while the guys hyped them up.

"Man, I ain't gon' lie," Jay said, pointing his fork at Alazhá. "You funny as shit. I knew you was coo, but I ain't know you had jokes like that."

"I be chillin," Alazhá said with a shrug, trying to hide her smile.
