Back on my feet

I woke up sore once again. My bruises purpling and blacking. I saw Finn on my spare bed and kind of freaked out when I realised I had another pair of clothes on. I slowly creeped out of bed and made my way down stairs trying not to make to much noise. I finally made it downstairs and I walked over to the fridge I was hungry.
Hey darling Finn is at home with you sorry I'm not here but I have to go and do a photography job I won't see you until 5 tonight.

Okay so that's why Finn is here to baby sit me yay... I opened the fridge and grabbed a up and go before turning on the microwave with the wheat bag. I pulled the arnica out from the kitchen and finished my up and go.

"FAWN!"

"What?"

"Where are you?"

"Downstairs why?" I said yelling up stairs.

"Why didn't you wake me?" Finn yelled down.

"Cuz I didn't want to wake you." I said as he made his way around the corner into the kitchen. He looked at me with sad eyes then got a ice pack out and pointed to the couch before stating to rub the arnica on while the ice pack say on the bruises he hadn't done. My eyes felt heavy as the minty sent filled my nose as he massaged my legs and arms. I ended up almost falling asleep on his lap while he was playing with my hair.

I woke up smelling pancakes and looked at the clock- 12 - before looking for Finn who was making pancakes.
"You know you don't have to make any food I can do that" I said slowly sitting up and making my way over to the kitchen.

"Yeah I did." He said as I was right behind him.

"Okay then, are you having any?" I asked while leaning over his shoulder in my tank top and shorts I was so glad it was warm in my house.

He shifted awkwardly before answering.
"Yeah, can you get the maple syrup out?"

"Sure, I'll go sit at the table."
I pulled my chair out and sat singing to the radio that was playing.
"Thank you waiter!" I said in a cheeky voice trying to get him to smile but he still only looked at me with worried, sorry eyes before he went and got his.

" look your not telling me something can you please tell me?!" I asked getting annoyed the small talk wasn't even working he was hardly talking to me.

"Well him and I have had this problem with each other and he's not the type to forgive, he is the reason I get so angry and touchy because we were best friends we used to do everything together and now after we were play fighting it got out of hand and he broke my arm and then he left and didn't come back. I never knew where he went but then you found him and I knew something bad would happen."

"Sorry I asked" I said as I looked at my plate and started to eat.
*buzzzz*
I glanced down onto the table to see my mum had messaged me.
Hey Hun, hope your feeling well we are going to Whiratoa for the weekend, can you ask if Finn wants to come as well?

Yay! Now I need to talk to this idiot! I think before I finally speak.

"Finn my mum just asked if you wanted to come down to Whiratoa it's a beach where we have a batch. We are leaving when mum gets home" I asked hardly looking up.

"Sure" he said taking my plate away once I had finished.

I slouched in my seat listening to the music in the car while we started to drive up towards Whiratoa. Slowly drifting off to sleep.
I quickly sat up and put my face as close to the front seat as possible and screamed,
"I SEE THE SEA!" As we went around the corner before my mum could even utter a word. I sat back down to see Finn with a smile on his face for the first time today and hearing mum laugh.
Soon after we pulled into my grandmas driveway and unpacked our things into the huge two story house, putting it next to our beds, mum got a bed to herself, I had to share a room with Finn, NOT BED, I thought to myself as we walked into the room with a double bed and a single bed.

"What bed do you want?" I asked awkwardly to Finn he's been acting weird lately.

"um I'll take the single" putting his bags onto the bed.

"GRANDMA!" I yell running to her to give her a huge hug, she always smells like the salty beach I thought as I left the hug. She just laughed and held my hands.

"So who's this handsome boy?" She asks Finn. "Hunny I'm so glad you found a boyfriend I've been waiting for this to happen!" She says looking at me.
Suddenly both Finn and I are telling her it's not like that! She just laughs and tells us to do what every we won't but we must be back by 6 for dinner as she walks out the room.
Finn and I look at the ground, I hate awkward silences it always makes me feel uncomfortable, I look at my watch seeing that it's only 1 that I could go for a quick run or swim, I decide swim.
As I'm gathering my stuff Finn soon does the same.
" what are you doing?" I asked

" I'm not going to let you go by yourself you might just sunbathe!" He says before racing to the bathroom to get changed. I quickly lock the door and get changed myself.

"Race you to the lagoon!" I yell as I open the fancy old door and run off holding my flip flops in one hand and towel in other.

Maybe a bikini wasn't the best idea I think as I sprint down the beach, I quickly look behind me and see Finn running, but slowly with a towel and flip flops like me. He stumbles and falls in the soft sand and I laugh thinking how dumb he is since down by the water is harder which is where I am
